A Hallmark alum recently opened up about a perceived rift she had experienced with her sister, a fellow Hallmark star. Tia Mowry had signaled months ago that she and her twin sister, “Baked with Love: Holiday” host Tamera Mowry-Housley, had become estranged.
The two have shared some content on social media together since then, suggesting that all was well between them. Now, Mowry insists that there never was an estrangement between them.
Tia Mowry Says She & Sister Tamera Mowry-Housley Make Time for Each Other
Mowry opened up about the perceived rift in a recent chat with Entertainment Tonight. The star of Hallmark’s “A Gingerbread Romance” told the media outlet, “Everybody thought that there was this huge rift or distance, and that was not the case.”
She continued, “The world, they’re so used to seeing all of us together. But at the end of the day, we all grow up, we all have our own families.”
“Yes, there’s distance, ‘cuz we all are doing our own thing. But when something is important to you, or when it is a priority, you will make time for it,” Mowry explained.
Mowry also shared that she and her sister have a “pact” that they will reach out to one another every Sunday. “So as long as we make time for each other, that’s all that matters,” she declared.
She was also asked what she most admires about her sister, and Mowry didn’t have to think long to come up with an answer. “She’s a great mother,” Mowry replied.
“It’s not easy having ambitions and doing what you love to do and trying to juggle all of that at the same time. She’s doing her best to be present for her kids, and she’s doing a great job,” Mowry added.
Mowry also gushed that she has “incredible” nieces and nephews, “So yeah, I would say she’s an incredible mother, I’m inspired by that.”
Some Fans Think There’s More to the Story Than What Mowry Acknowledged
Fans of the pair had plenty to say after listening to Mowry talk about her relationship with her sister.
Several felt that Mowry wasn’t being entirely honest about the dynamic she currently shares with Mowry-Housley. Others thought that whatever has happened between them should be kept private. A few didn’t think there had been any rift between them at all.
One fan suggested, “Tia needs to stop talking about it and just say, ‘It’s no one’s business’ and keep it moving. People need to go grow up.”
Another fan dismissed the idea that the two ever really had a rift to begin with. “There was no tension. Y’all only heard the first part of what she said and ran with it. She had made it clear since that conversation that they both live very far away from each other and don’t see each other as much as they used to. Literally [said that] in that same convo.”
“I’m sorry, but [in my opinion], the energy tells me different… but it’s between them,” suggested an additional fan.
“Y’all acting like sisters and brothers don’t have [their] moments it’s normal,” added someone else.
“This is very telling, but even the closest of people can drift apart,” read a separate fan’s response.
