Tyler Hynes‘ latest Hallmark movie, “I’ll Be Seeing You,” had a special meaning, as it focused on a road trip and memories. The actor revealed before the premiere why the film was extra special to him. Following the success of the film, star Pete Graham has revealed that getting cast in “I’ll Be Seeing You” meant so much to him.
Pete Graham Was Thrilled to Be Cast in ‘I’ll Be Seeing You’
In an Instagram share, Graham opened up about getting the part of Pepper in the Hallmark movie. Pepper is one half of a musician duo that Mark (Hynes), Amy (Stacey Farber), Vivian (Christine Ebersole), and Sue (BJ Harrison) run into on their road trip.
Clyde (Tom Pickett) and Pepper play the infamous song “I’ll Be Seeing You” as Mark and Vivian dance during a point in the trip where she is looking back on a brief romance she had. Graham was excited to work on a film with such an amazing script and an incredibly talented cast, especially his good friend, Pickett.
However, in his social media post, Graham revealed that performing the song and being part of the film, which has a touching meaning, brought back memories of his own mother.
“This is a song my amazing mother often sang, and it holds such warm memories for me. And 15 years ago when mom had to move into the extended care home she had worked in as a caregiver for years – after raising 9 kids on our farm – the song took on a deeper meaning for me: it became a touchstone for us,” he expressed.
Graham went on to add, “Her dementia meant mom didn’t always know me, but, she could always remember this song, right until the end. And so we would sing it together on good days… and I would sing it to mom on hard days. And though uncertain, she would start to sing it, and there would be a renewed connection. It didn’t always bring her back to me, but it did always spark something, and made things easier.”
The Hallmark star admitted being part of the film was super fun and gave props to Hynes, the rest of the cast, and everyone else involved. Although he hasn’t seen the movie yet, Graham can’t wait to see how it all came together. Filming it was a “special experience,” and he will remember it forever.
Graham remains grateful to have been part of “I’ll Be Seeing You”. He even shared some behind-the-scenes moments to offer a little insight into what it was like to film it.
Sweet Words for ‘I’ll Be Seeing You’ Producer Tyler Hynes
In the comments section of his Instagram post, Hynes popped up to leave a crown emoji to show his feelings toward Graham.
“@tyler_hynes – right back at you 👑 Tyler. A pleasure to meet and work with you, and congratulations on all the fine reviews, heartfelt comments and accolades the film is receiving- undoubtedly deserved 🙌 🚐 ✌️,” Graham wrote back.
There’s no question that the meaning behind “I’ll Be Seeing You” has impacted not only fans but also those who worked on the film. Along with Graham’s words, Hynes also got real about working with his dream co-star, Ebersole.
Farber didn’t hold back, gushing about working on this project, which was a bit of a pivot for Hallmark but still had the network’s signature movie style. Ebersole stated that she agreed to be part of the film before she even saw a script because Hynes pitched the idea to her.
