Ahead of Melissa Gilbert’s expected return to “When Calls the Heart” as Georgie McGill, the “Little House on the Prairie” alum is quietly dipping her toes back into the world of social media.
The Hallmark star deactivated her personal Instagram account in early January as legal issues involving her husband, Timothy Busfield, emerged. Gilbert has yet to reactivate her personal Instagram page.
However, she has started to appear in some posts on the page of the company she co-founded, Modern Prairie. The posts come ahead of a new episode of “When Calls the Heart,” where it is expected that Gilbert will appear again as McGill.
Melissa Gilbert Is Surrounded by Love During an ‘Impossibly Hard Time’
On January 26, Gilbert wrote a statement that was shared on the Modern Prairie Instagram page. Since then, she has appeared in additional posts for the brand, mostly without mention of her personal situation.
A few days after sharing her statement, on January 30, Gilbert was featured in a video the brand’s page shared with fans. In the caption, the writer noted they were “cautious about sharing this video.”
However, the writer continued, “We wanted to remind you of what happens when your circle surrounds you during what seems like an impossibly hard time.”
During those difficult times, the brand suggested, one’s support circle will “encourage you to eat ice cream, to dance, and to smile.”
“THIS is women at their best and most powerful. This is ModernPrairie. We show up, surround, support, and always eat dessert first.” The gathering highlighted in the video took place a few weeks prior, the caption indicated.
Not only is Gilbert receiving love and care from her Modern Prairie colleagues, but she is also receiving a lot of it from fans.
“Sending big HUGS and prayers Love support and girl time is theee best,” one fan commented.
“We need to love and support each other always. So good to see you, even if it’s a few weeks later. Xo,” added another fan.
Someone else praised, “Hallelujah!! We should love and support each other and always have dessert first!”
Fans Are Continuing to Love on the WCTH Guest Star
A new Instagram post on February 2 also featured Gilbert. She referenced making homemade fortune cookies, an effort that the company highlighted in a video posted on February 1. She declared the project a big success, suggesting she would never be able to eat store-bought fortune cookies again.
Gilbert sang in the background of a video posted on February 5, and she was also the face of the latest Modern Prairie book club Instagram post that was also shared on February 5.
The post asked fans to guess what the next Prairie Pages book selection was, teasing that it was something that “lives close to Melissa’s heart.”
In the photo, Gilbert held a paperback copy of “Little House on the Prairie.” As the site’s book club page confirmed, is the next book for the group.
The comment section for each new Modern Prairie Instagram post gave Gilbert’s fans a fresh opportunity to note their ongoing support for her.
