HGTV’s Alison Victoria Reveals Why She Left Chicago for Las Vegas

Alison Victoria is living her best life in Las Vegas after leaving a pretty amazing home in Chicago. Why did the HGTV star make the shift to Vegas? She explains why she prefers “Sin City Rehab” over “Windy City Rehab.”

Alison Victoria Shares Surprising Reason She Headed to Vegas

In a September 2025 interview with House Beautiful, Victoria shed some light on her connection to Vegas.

“Some of my most important years were out in Las Vegas, and most people didn’t know that and don’t know that,” she said.

The HGTV star continued, “I always had a house out here and I always kept a life out here, but I would just mainly kind of pop in and visit.”

Now Las Vegas is her permanent home, even though she had a “beautiful dream home” in Chicago.

What changed? Victoria said the long winters played a role, but ultimately she needed a break from the way Chicago was treating her.

“After what I went through with the multiple lawsuits and the building department in Chicago, it just … I don’t know how to explain it. It’s like you’re in a relationship, right? I was in a relationship with the city that I loved and lived in, and then it didn’t treat me well,” Victoria explained.

She added, “It just didn’t, and I needed a break. I just needed to get out of there. I wasn’t my happiest self; I wasn’t living my best life.”

“When I’m happy, I’m my most creative self,” the HGTV star explained. “My creativity was dying in Chicago, and I felt that in my work.”

HGTV Star Reveals ‘Perfect Timing’ of New Show ‘Sin City Rehab’

When the time was right, Victoria didn’t hesitate to move on. “I literally up and left,” she said.

The interior designer noted, “I left the most beautiful dream home, which is just perfect. It’s just stuck the way that I left it — fully furnished, all my clothes are there. I just was like, ‘I’m out.'”

The design process for Victoria’s Las Vegas home was featured on season 4 of “Windy City Rehab.”

“It’s my sanctuary, like being on vacation every day,” she shared.

The HGTV star has been rebuilding her home design business in Las Vegas. “I’ve been wanting to do ‘Sin City Rehab’ for years and years and years,” she said. “When I finally pitched it [with my production company, Briefly Gorgeous Productions], it was perfect timing.”
