Ben and Erin Napier enjoy being neighborly and building a community, something they attribute to their location in rural America. The HGTV stars reveal how they build connections with neighbors, which includes giving others the gift of time.
Ben & Erin Napier Share the Role Food Plays in Their Community Connections
During a September 2025 interview with Parade, Ben and Erin shared one of the ways they create connections with neighbors โ it revolves around food.
“That’s just rural America, baby,” Erin said. “We give food to our neighbors.”
She continued, “I think it’s a part of rural America, we have to watch out for each other. And take care of each other and think of each other.”
The HGTV star noted, “Loneliness is an epidemic. But alsoย lifeย is just a lot easier if you feel like there’s somebody that cares that lives near you.”
Erin explained how delivering food to a neighbor is “really easy to meet a need” and also gives them a special gift in the process.
“It buys them time. You give them the gift of time. ‘You didn’t have to sit down and make this for yourself. We took care of this for you,'” she shared.
Erin noted that there’s another upside because you can get your kids involved. “And it’s fun to bake things with your kids,” she said.
The Napiers Share More About ‘Home Town’ Season 10
Ben and Erin also teased a little about the upcoming season of “Home Town.”
While the couple couldn’t reveal too much about the show, Erin did drop a hint about one of their renovations for a friend “who is a professional artist.” They transformed her otherwise boring house in a special way.
“She just bought a house that is literally a box,” Erin said. “It is the most boring little vanilla box you can imagine. And whoa. We transformed it into the coolest artist cottage in the woods that you can imagine.”
The HGTV star added, “It’s so exciting.”
Erin said fans should also be on the lookout for something not often seen on a home renovation show, “a wedding at a reveal.”
As for their tips for easy and inexpensive ways to make a big impact in your home, Ben recommended a fresh coat of paint.
Erin noted that “an incredible piece of art that really makes a statement” can go a long way with changing up a space.
