“Castle Impossible” stars Daphne and Ian Fig took fans along as they completed a decorative repair on the 400-year-old chateau as they introduced the world to their baby boy.
“Baby’s going to come out with a hard hat and a pair of gloves,” Ian teased in a video shared via YouTube on Wednesday, August 26.
“I’m pretty sure baby already started renovations in there,” Daphne laughed. “Pretty sure my liver is like all the way in.”
Last-Minute Renovation
Daphne and Ian Fig quickly became HGTV fan favorites when their hit series premiered in April 2025. While the network has yet to confirm whether the high school sweethearts will be returning for a third season, the couple has not stopped renovation their French escape.
When the pair noticed their gorgeous stone floral ceiling located in the chateau was slowly starting to deteriorate, they quickly got to work brainstorming a fix.
“I got to say, if only a few pedals have broken off over the last 400 years, then they’ve held up pretty well,” Ian said. “Anytime we have guests at the chateau, this makes their jaw drop.”
When Daphne suggested using a broken petal as a mold to replace the missing pieces, Ian expressed his interest in chiseling petals out of stone.
“Why don’t you? Why don’t we try different methods, and then we’ll see,” his wife encouraged.
Turned out that chiseling was the way to go! Ian was able to carve the missing piece and install it so that it blended perfectly with the intricate ceiling.
The ceiling rehab was likely the last project on their home before welcoming baby No. 1 as baby Adrian was born shortly after the installation.

The Figs first announced their pregnancy in June, in a joint post with HGTV.

Fans were overjoyed for the couple, who later hinted that they were expecting a baby boy.
“Meet Adrian Fig 👶🏻💕,” they shared via Instagram on Wednesday, August 26, alongside photos from their son’s first days and Daphne’s final baby bump photos. “Love has a whole new meaning to us now. We are SMITTEN 🥰 We feel so loved and supported by everyone in this incredible life experience! Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. We are so blessed to have him happy and healthy in our arms.”
They teased, “The real question is, do they make baby-sized power tools? Because we’ve got more work to do in the chateau! 😅”
The new parents were seen pushing a stroller into their gorgeous home in the video shared to YouTube.
“We are overjoyed to have our baby boy Adrien happy and healthy and in our arms at last,” Daphne said in a voiceover. “We’ve been waiting [music] many months to meet him face to face, and now we can finally welcome him to the chateau.”
