Christina Haack is staying true to her birthday pledge of “being the most calm, grounded version of myself,” showing a united front with second ex-husband Ant Anstead as they celebrate son Hudson’s birthday.
Ant Anstead put up an Instagram post showing a carousel of pictures from son Hudson’s sixth birthday party, with HGTV star Christina featured front and center. In the caption, he wrote, “Hudzo explained it’s his “golden birthday” as he’s 6 on the 6th! Legend! Weekend celebrating our miracle boy with a CHAOS filled party we all gone need a lay down Hudzo we love you Xx”
Ant & Christina Worked Hard to Get to a Good Place
While Christina Haack and Ant Anstead are in a good place now, that wasn’t always the case.
After a bitter custody battle over their son, the pair were able to put aside their differences during the filming of an episode of “The Flip Off” season one, where Ant served as a guest judge.
People quoted Christina saying the reconciliation was a conscious choice both made for the sake of Hudson. “Ant and I share Hudson… and I feel like he deserves to have us get along,” she said.
In fact, the desire to reconcile led Ant to side with Christina on the show, awarding her the win for his episode.
In explaining his choice on the Feb.19 episode, Ant said, “Hudson is 5 now. As parents, it took us four and a half years to get to that point, which is really shameful.”
Ant went on, “You and I will be connected forever because we have a kid. So ultimately, I have to stand by the mother of my kid. It puts Christina and me on the same team forever. Because of that, this judge is swayed, she’s on my team and [Tarek and Heather] lose.”
Christina Haack & Ant Anstead Find Common Ground
Since taping the show, Christina Haack and Ant Anstead have been supportive of each other on social media and have been seen chatting on the sidelines at Hudson’s soccer games.
They even posed for a photo and put up a joint Instagram post after one of Hudson’s school performances. Ant wrote, “Our little gentleman CRUSHED his school performance this morning 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🥰He’s thriving x”
In an interview with US Weekly, Christina admitted that while she was married to third husband Josh Hall, “I hadn’t really talked to Ant in years. Like the whole time that Josh and I were together, which is sad.”
But when that marriage broke up, things changed. “I was dropping Hudson off at Ant’s house. And he came up and gave me a big hug and was like ‘I’m here for you whatever you need. I’m so sorry you’re going through this and I feel like Josh is the source of the problem, why we can’t communicate. And now I feel like we’re back on track and here for Hudson.’ And we’ve been fine ever since.”
Fine and enjoying celebrating their adorable son. In her Instagram post celebrating Hudson’s birthday, Christina wrote, “Happy 6th birthday to my baby! Hudson lights up our home and every room he’s in 🌟… Sweet, kind, smart and has sooo much energy (especially at bedtime 😉 ). We love you so much 🥰 ❤️”
