David Bromstad got choked up when he received a touching gift from an HGTV “My Lottery Dream Home” participant. The woman presented Bromstad with her late mom’s ring, explaining that her mother was one of his biggest fans.
David Bromstad Gets Emotional Over Fan’s Touching Gift
On January 23, the HGTV Instagram account shared a clip from an episode of “My Lottery Dream Home,” in which Bromstad received a fan gift.
“You can tell by the ring alone that she was a legend. David helps a daughter honor her mom on a bittersweet new #MyLotteryDreamHome, tonight at 9|8c,” the caption noted.
The video includes text that explains, “Client’s Late Mom Loved David.” In the clip, the client presents him with a small box, saying, “This was my mom’s. And it’s for you.”
“Stop! Really?” he asks.
She tells him, “It’s too blingy for me.”
“It’s Mickey [Mouse]. Do you see it’s Mickey?” she adds. Bromstad reveals the Disney icon on the side of the silver ring.
The HGTV star’s jaw drops over the heartfelt gift. “This is really cool,” he says as he slips the ring on his pinky finger.
“Thank you so much,” Bromstad adds, as he chokes up a bit. “That’s a lot.”
The client explains, “She really did enjoy your show.”
“She had great taste” he says with a laugh, adding, “Should we get this party started?”
Bromstad worked as a Disney illustrator and has a number of Mickey and Disney tattoos. The HGTV website notes, “He knew he wanted to work for Disney at a young age and so, after high school, he enrolled at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, which is known for helping artists land jobs at Disney.”
