Erin Napier shared a glimpse of her husband Ben Napier’s 20-plus-year Sunday nap ritual — and it has an unusual twist. The HGTV star posted a photo of Ben snoozing in his favorite chair at her parents’ house with one hand holding onto the nearby lamp.
Erin Napier Gives Fans a Look at Ben Napier’s Sunday Napping Routine
On August 9, Erin took to Instagram to share a photo of Ben taking a nap. It turns out, this is his weekly ritual.
“On Sundays after lunch at my parents’, for 20+ years, he has been falling asleep in that red velvet chair and holding onto that lamp,” she noted in the caption. “This tickles me.”
Fans flooded the comments section, and many couldn’t resist making jokes about Ben’s unusual nap setup. “He’s taking a ‘light’ nap. (I know Ben loves those puns!) Good for him!” one fan wrote.
Another fan joked, “Just recharging. Maybe the lamp is his charging station. ;)”

Erin Napier Shared a Look at a Typical Busy Day Filming ‘Home Town’
On August 1, Erin took to Instagram to share that they’re filming a new season of “Home Town.”
“When is more ‘Home Town’ coming? Soon!” Erin wrote in the caption.
She added, “We just came back to filming from our summer break. This is a typical day during filming, which runs year round. I love to hear about people’s routines. Do you?”
Erin gave fans an inside look at what a day of filming looks like, beginning with a 5:50 a.m. wakeup for her to get ready. Ben is up at 5 a.m. to write letters, read the bible, and workout.
She also noted the sweet gesture that Ben has waiting for her every day. “Ben leaves me a letter and my caffeine on the chest outside our bedroom every morning,” she wrote.
Their daughters are up at 7 a.m. and doing chores and they even squeeze in piano practice and some homeschooling prep.
“9:30 a.m. I join Ben at the woodshop for filming my scenes about an idea I’ve got,” the HGTV star explained. “He’s been building something super secret for our homeowner.”
Throughout the day, they film interviews for the show, eat lunch with their whole crew, and work on the home renovation project.
After work, they arrive home at 5:15 p.m. and get in a shower before picking their kids up at Erin’s mom’s house. They return at 8:40 p.m. and follow the bedtime routines of reading, singing, and saying prayers.
“9:35 p.m. Quick shower/face wash because it helps me sleep, read for 15 mins and fall asleep,” the “Home Town” star shared. “The end.”
