Erin Napier is reflecting on how differently her teenage vision of adulthood turned out in reality. The HGTV star once dreamed of living in a “shack near the sea” and never imagined herself having children, but life had other plans. Today, she’s embracing a loving marriage, motherhood, and the everyday joys of family life.

On August 12, Napier took to Instagram to share a glimpse of her life today, joking that her younger self might have a hard time believing where she ended up.
She wrote in the caption: “High school me who listened to Pearl Jam, wanted to live in a shack near the sea and never thought about ever having children would struggle to understand that yesterday I said these words out loud: ‘Helen please go ring the dinner bell for daddy to come in and make sure Bunny isn’t in the classroom or barn.’ As I sliced fresh homemade sourdough bread wearing O V E R A L L S. 😄.”
It’s a far cry from living by the sea without kids, for sure.
Fans flooded the comments section to share how much they loved Napier’s reflection on life.

Erin Napier Gave Fans a Look at a Typical Hectic Day
On August 1, Napier took to Instagram to give an update on the new season of “Home Town” and shared a look at what a busy day of filming and parenting looks like.
“When is more ‘Home Town’ coming? Soon!” Napier wrote in the caption. “We just came back to filming from our summer break. This is a typical day during filming, which runs year round. I love to hear about people’s routines. Do you?”
They start the day early, with her husband Ben Napier getting up at 5 a.m. to write letters, read the Bible, and work out. She is up at 5:50 to get ready.
Napier also noted the sweet gesture her husband has waiting for her every day. “Ben leaves me a letter and my caffeine on the chest outside our bedroom every morning,” she shared.
The couple’s daughters get up at 7 a.m. and do chores, practice piano, and squeeze in a bit of learning.
“9:30 a.m. I join Ben at the woodshop for filming my scenes about an idea I’ve got,” Napier noted. “He’s been building something super secret for our homeowner.”
The duo film interviews for the show, work on the home renovation project, and have lunch together with their whole crew.
After work, they get home at 5:15 p.m. and shower before picking their kids up from grandma’s house. They return at 8:40 p.m. and start bedtime routines that include reading, singing, and saying prayers.
“9:35 p.m. Quick shower/face wash because it helps me sleep, read for 15 mins and fall asleep,” the HGTV star wrote. “The end.”
