Jenny Marrs Posts Touching Tribute to Mother-in-Law
On September 20, Marrs took to Instagram to share a tribute to her late mother-in-law. On her Instagram Stories, she noted, “We are heartbroken. I’ll be offline for a bit. Thank you in advance for praying for our family.”
In her post, she shared family photos and wrote, “I hope when it’s all said and done and my sojourn on this earth is finished, that my kids and grandkids won’t be able to remember a single time that I didn’t show up, that I wasn’t there cheering them on, encouraging them, and serving them in love.”
Marrs continued, “I hope they have a camera roll overflowing with photos of the ordinary days and the important days — with my smiling face always in the background. I hope they know how deeply and fervently they are loved, because I told them every chance I got. I hope they have a voicemail box filled with saved messages from me asking how I can help them with the kids or if I can bring them dinner or just to remind them how much I love them.”
“I hope their friends always feel welcome in my home and that even their friends of friends have an abundance of joyful memories of my laughter. I hope they feel celebrated because of me,” she noted.
The HGTV star shared, “Most of all, I hope that when their hearts are broken because my time here is through, that they will have the comfort and supernatural peace knowing that I was welcomed into the arms of my precious Jesus because they saw the way I walked with Him all the days of my life. I hope they can stand vigil around my bedside in my final days full of the confident assurance that I was just passing through and I will be waiting for them on the other side. I hope they can mourn not as those without hope, but with a hope that we will be together again for eternity.”
Marrs went on to share her mother-in-law’s legacy. “I hope I can live out my life in the steps of my beloved Mother-in-law, Donna. She taught me how to live and love well. She taught me how to be the kind of mother-in-law and the kind of grandmother who I can’t even begin to imagine this earth without,” the “Fixer to Fabulous” star wrote. “The world lost one of the brightest lights I’ve ever known and I hope to honor her legacy well.”
She added, “Well done, Donna. Well done. You never wavered in your love or your faith. We don’t know how to move forward here without you but I promise we will try our best. We will hold tight to the hope set before us. We love you so so so so so so much. No words will ever be enough.”
