Jenny Marrs is celebrating her twins reaching a big milestone birthday with an emotional post about the passage of time. As the HGTV star’s sons turn 16, she’s reflecting on some of the childhood highlights, from newborn preemies to driving a car.
Jenny Marrs Celebrates Sons Ben & Nate on Their 16th Birthday
On May 29, Marrs took to Instagram with a lengthy post to celebrate her sons Ben and Nate turning 16.
“SIXTEEN! 🤍 I still picture you both as the itty-bitty preemies who fit in the literal palm of your dad’s hand or the rambunctious toddlers who giggled as you emptied every kitchen cabinet while my back was turned loading the dishwasher or the little boys who pretended to be gold miners out by the pond or the bigger kids who loved parkour and practiced ninja warrior techniques off the sofa,” she wrote in the caption.
The HGTV star continued, “The number of kitchen dance parties and soccer matches and basketball games I’ve watched over the years seems endless and, yet, barely enough. I find myself holding on to every single moment with you knowing these precious days under our roof are fleeting — watching you learn to drive (two new drivers!) or listening to you relay funny stories from school or hearing about girls (my heart hasn’t been ready for that one).”
Marrs shared the bittersweet feeling of kids growing into young adults.
“Watching you grow up feels like a long goodbye. A goodbye to the versions of you that I knew and loved so dearly for such a brief moment in time,” she wrote. “And, also, a beautiful hello to this new version of who you are becoming.”
The “Fixer to Fabulous” star shared, “You are now these young men who are generous and kind and hardworking. You’re gentlemen who hold doors and carry heavy packages for me and mow the lawn when you see the grass is too long. You are little entrepreneurs and leaders and (one of you) inherited my sarcastic sense of humor.”
“I love adventuring with you and exploring new places together while watching you gain independence and confidence as you navigate the world around you,” she noted.
Marrs added, “I couldn’t be more proud to be your mom. I love you with my whole heart and I’m immensely grateful that God saw it fit to make me a momma first with the gift of the two of you. Happiest of birthdays to you boys. I love you to the moon and back times a million trillion!! ❤️🥳”
