John Cena Hits the Jackpot With New HGTV Show

John Cena has a lot on his plate — and in his home. The actor, entrepreneur, and 17-time world champion wrestler will soon also add “HGTV executive producer” to his list of titles when a series inspired by his own belongings debuts on the network in late 2025.

“Queer Eye” alum Bobby Berk, the host Cena hand-picked for “Junk or Jackpot,” told Us Weekly in an article published on September 20, 2025, that Cena came up with the show’s premise.

“It was through the mind of the genius John Cena,” he told the outlet. “He was out at dinner one night talking with friends about these crazy collections of wrestling memorabilia.”

It’s not clear if Cena’s wrestling memorabilia wound up fetching a pretty penny, but his curiosity about its worth sparked the idea for “Junk or Jackpot.”

Berk explained, “‘He’s like, ‘I need to develop this.’ So he did and he asked me to host it. It’s been a lot of fun. He is the hardest-working man in Hollywood.”

Berk made his HGTV debut during the latest edition of “Rock the Block,” serving as judge of the first episode. He’ll officially join the HGTV family with his first-ever show on the network later this year.

“Junk or Jackpot” is comprised of six episodes in which Berk helps homeowners decide whether to keep their collectibles — from superhero figurines to rare puppets and dolls — or sell them to make money for home renovations.

Berk told Us Weekly he had no idea how much people’s home collections could make, but loves showcasing their jackpots.

“I’m always shocked at what these things are worth because I’m not a collector,” he admitted. “I’m a minimalist. I don’t do things that much. So to find some comics books that are worth $60,000 that were just sitting up on a shelf blew me away.”

Bobby Berk Says Sorting Through People’s Collections Gets Emotional

“Junk or Jackpot” began filming in late July, with an expected premiere later in 2025. Berk told Us Weekly that, on a deeper level, the show is about more than design or making money from junk in one’s house — and it can get emotional.

“People have these amazing collections that they’ve collected over the years but they have taken over their lives,” he explained. “It is either causing problems with their personal relationships or just their relationship with themselves.

“I’m excited for people to see the connection between stuff and emotion and how to really work through that in a healthy way.”

Cena posted on social media about the show in July, sharing, “What we collect is a reflection of who we are and what we love. Grateful to HGTV and Bobby for making this project come to life!”
