“Property Brothers” stars Drew and Jonathan Scott have years of experience renovating homes for HGTV clients. However, their latest series, “Property Brothers: Under Pressure,” puts a new spin on their tried and true methods.
How ‘Property Brothers: Under Pressure’ Is Different
Drew and Jonathan Scott have been staples of the HGTV universe. It seems impossible that any new show featuring the twins could be different from the rest. However, according to the “Celebrity IOU” stars, their newest hit is exactly that.
“The Scott brothers will guide clients through the ups and downs of the home buying process — from fiercely competitive markets and sticker shock to personal wish lists and tough compromises — when their emotional and financial stakes are at an all-time high. Once the deals are done, Drew and Jonathan will then incorporate stunning, smart and functional design solutions into budget-conscious renovations to create clients’ dream homes,” the show’s description reads, per HGTV.
According to the twins, “Under Pressure” shows a “variety” of experiences.
“Whether it’s the first couple that lost their home in the L.A. Fires, or generational families that are moving in together so they can afford to get a house — everybody’s got a different story,” Jonathan told People, in an interview published Friday, March 20, adding that they “intentionally cast lower budgets and more relatable stories.”
He added, “You’ll see there’s also this real docu-style, kind of behind-the-scenes… We don’t turn the camera off, so you get to see a lot of the stuff that normally would happen after we stopped rolling.”
Drew explained that viewers can expect to see “every scenario you can think of” when it comes to the stressful home-buying process.
“The emotions are there. The frustrations — even Jonathan and me arguing. So you get a lot of everything,” he added.
HGTV Announced New ‘Property Brothers’ Show
When HGTV first announced “Under Pressure,” Drew and Jonathan explained the concept for viewers.
“Our buyers want the perfect house in the ideal location, but many times Jonathan and I have to counsel them on how to best stretch their dollar in this competitive real estate market,” Drew said at the time. “It can be hard to find something move-in ready, which is why we look for the diamond in the rough that we can turn into an amazing home with the right renovation.”
Jonathan added, “We’re very honest and upfront with clients about how challenging the house hunt can be.”
