‘Scariest Houses In America’: What You Need to Know About Season 2

Scariest Houses in America” is back for another season of thrills, chills and Retta’s hilarious expressions.

If you are one of the 8.3 million viewers who loved every minute of season one, we have your ultimate guide to season two, which HGTV promises is scarier than ever!

A press release from HGTV parent company Warner Bros Discovery says season two comes with six brand new episodes featuring a total of 15 creepy, crazy, (maybe even haunted?) houses.

And of course comedian and host Retta will tour every single one with her trademark humor and hilarious reactions.

Episode One: Nightmares in the Northeast

The season premiere on September 19 will put a spotlight on eerie homes in the Northeast.

Retta will tour a centuries-old, ghost-filled Maryland estate.

She’ll hit a historic haunted house in Connecticut that comes complete with a creepy attic.

Retta will also tour a house that used to serve as a funeral home, complete with a basement morgue and a “corpse door.”

And she’ll do some time in an 1800s Georgia jail offering unexplained sights and sounds.

Episode Two: The Midwest Gets Mysterious

Episode two finds Retta in the Midwest, where she’ll have to face her fears at a house built on a graveyard (has anyone see “Poltergeist?” Asking for a friend…)

HGTV also teases a house that looks like a witch’s hat.

Episode Three: Scariest In the Spooky South

Episode three takes on the spooky South, including a house that has gone to the dogs. And a lot of other animals.

Retta recently sat in on the “Absolutely Not” podcast, where she told host, comedian Heather McMahan about the shock of walking into a home filled with taxidermy-ed terrors.

“I’ve walked in, many a time, and said ‘Oh is that your dog? You had him stuffed?’ There’s a house this season that’s like filled, like FILLED, with taxidermy-ed animals. I mean, like this is the showroom for a taxidermist. Like, it is a lot,” Retta related.

Episode Four: From Scary to Beautiful

After all 15 houses have gotten Retta’s reactions, it’s time to pick the creepiest of the creepy.

In episode four, we learn which petrifying property will win the title of “scariest.”

That home receives a $150,000 makeover at the hands of “Sin City Rehab” designer Alison Victoria.

Episode five will take us through the exorcism of all things spooky, and we’ll see the final results of the makeover in the big reveal on episode six.
