Scott McGillivray has cemented himself as one of HGTV fans’ favorite real estate pros, so it’s no surprise that the network is preparing another brand-new series for him.
While a name has yet to be announced, McGillivray and MEM Casting announced their search for homeowners with rental properties in need of an upgrade.
Homeowner Search
“In today’s economy, your home shouldn’t just cost you money… it should make you money. It’s time to get savvy, get creative and put your property to work!” the listing, which was shared via Instagram on Friday, August 28, began. “We’re on the hunt for homeowners with existing rentals, overlooked spaces hiding massive income potential. Empty garages, overgrown laneways, underused basements, dusty attics – the sky is the limit, and we can help!”
The post continued, “Scott McGillivray is ready to jump in and unlock the potential that’s been hiding right under your roof. He knows where value is hiding – and how to unlock it. If you’ve ever dreamed of turning unused space into real income, increasing your home’s value, or creating a game-changing investment, this is your chance.”
McGillivray has been starring on HGTV for nearly 20 years, beginning with “Income Property.” He later starred in “Moving the McGillivrays,” “Buyers Bootcamp with Scott McGillivray,” “Vacation House Rules,” and “Renovation Resort.” He also competed with Brooke Hogan during season 7 of “Rock the Block.”
Hopeful homeowners can apply by sending photos and a video along with an application.
New Show Announcement
Earlier this month, McGillivray shared details of his newest renovation series.
“Show me your overlooked space, and I’ll show you its potential!” he shared via Instagram.
“Okay, we have big news,” he added. “Today, I am kicking off casting for an exciting new HGTV renovation series hosted by me. So, if you own a property in the GTA [Greater Toronto Area] and you’ve got space that’s not living up to its potential, then I want to hear from you.”
McGillivray continued, “That’s right. Whether it’s an unfinished basement, an underused garage, a laneway, an attic, or another overlooked opportunity, guess what? I’m gonna help you unlock its income potential and make your property work harder than ever.”
Other HGTV Shows Currently Casting
In addition to McGillivray’s unnamed series, five other fan-favorite shows are searching for homeowners in need of an upgrade.
“Fixer to Fabulous” stars Jenny and Dave Marrs are currently wrapping up filming for season 8 but it appears HGTV may already be preparing for season 9.
“Calling all Bentonville, Arkansas families: Do you live in an older home that needs some love? HGTV is looking for homeowners in the area with plans to renovate!” the ad reads.
“Ugliest House in America”—starring Retta and “Sin City Rehab” star Alison Victoria—is also looking for “outlandish, head-scratching homes in America,” while “Zillow Gone Wild” prepares another one-of-a-kind season starring Jack McBrayer.
Drew and Jonathan Scott are searching for homeowners for an undisclosed new show in Los Angeles.
“Don’t miss the chance to transform your home with the help of experts. We’re looking for engaging personalities who are excited to work with Drew, Jonathan and their team,” the website states.
