“Holmes on Homes” star Sherry Holmes is branching off. The HGTV star typically stars alongside her dad, Mike Holmes, and brother, Mike Holmes Jr.. But this time, she’s going solo.
Sherry announced the exciting news to fans via social media, and it premieres very soon!
Sherry’s New Series
“Ready to Trade Up? 🔨👷♀️” Sherry captioned her video announcement. “Starting September 8, I’m taking you behind the scenes to explore 6 exciting, in-demand skilled trades in ‘Trade Up with Sherry Holmes’, in partnership with Skills Canada!”
She added, “I got to meet some incredible people, try my hand at some pretty cool skills, and see firsthand just how many amazing career opportunities are out there in the trades. 🙌 There’s so much more to the skilled trades than you might think—and I can’t wait to show you!”
She previously revealed that her six new skills are “🔧 Autobody Repair 🌱 Landscaping & Horticulture 🔥 Welding & Pipefitting 🤖 Mechatronics ✈️ Aerospace Technology [and] 🧁 Baking.”
According to Sherry, she has “always been curious about how things work,” so she took this opportunity to follow skilled tradesmen to pick up some techniques.
“I explored 6 different skilled trades, met some seriously talented people, and got a firsthand look at the skills, technology and career opportunities that make the trades such an exciting path,” she wrote.
Episodes drop Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning September 8 on her YouTube channel.
Working With Family
While this project marks Sherry’s first time solo, she, her dad and brother recently opened up about what it is like working together. In a July 2026 interview with TV Insider, Mike, Michael Jr., and Sherry discussed the best and worst aspects of working with family.
“The best part of working with Michael and Sherry is the trust. I know they care as much about the outcome as I do. Plus, I get to see my kids on most days, and even my grandkids when they come to the jobsite,” Mike Sr. shared.
According to Mike Jr. the trio has perfected their communication styles.
“Working with my dad and sister is great. Though we might often butt heads and have a difference of opinion, we’re pretty good at communicating and listening to each other,” he told the outlet. “At the end of the day, we’re all working towards the same goal, helping homeowners.”
Sherry added that while “too much togetherness can cause a bit of friction,” working together means they get to see each other more than they would otherwise.
“Sometimes we need a break, but in the end it’s all good,” she added. “We are very lucky to have each other for support on and off the jobsite.”
Season 2 of their hit series, “Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy” premiered this summer on HGTV.
