HGTV‘s Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama are giving fans a hilarious glimpse into a moment that’s all too relatable for married couples. In a funny video, the “Renovation Aloha” stars say goodbye — with Kamohai getting a quick kiss while their dogs get plenty of extra love and attention.
Tristyn & Kamohai Kalama Share Funny Kiss Goodbye Video
On August 17, the HGTV stars took to Instagram to share a look at their typical goodbye routine.
“How my wife says bye to me,” the text on the video notes, showing Tristyn giving Kamohai a quick kiss. Then the video notes, “Versus how my wife says bye to the dogs.” She gets down to the dogs’ level and pets and kisses them before picking one up to give him hugs and more kisses.
Tristyn puts the dog back down and then gives more affection to the pups.
The caption notes, “He does the same thing … just something about frenchies. 🫶🏽 #frenchbulldog.”
Fans flooded the comments section, noting that they know this scene all too well.
“Just about right! I do the same thing with my Frenchies,” one fan wrote. “Lol 🤣.”
The Kalamas responded, “We can’t help it lol.”

HGTV Stars Welcomed a New Puppy in June
On June 22, Kamohai and Tristyn took to Instagram to announce their new puppy with a fun video of them lip syncing about who let the dogs out.
Their kids were in on the fun, lip syncing confusion while their mom and dad recited some of the 2000 Baha Men song, “Who Let the Dogs Out.”
The video ended with the introduction of their adorable new family member. “We got Biggy Boy a puppy!” they wrote in the caption. “🐶💙 Koa Bule Bear Kalama.”
The family already owned a French Bulldog named Biggy Smalls.
On July 9, the couple took to Instagram with a new video of Koa. “All day 🐾,” the caption read.
In the video, they edited a Bradley Cooper clip from the 2018 film “A Star Is Born,” in which his character Jackson Maine stops to admire Ally (played by Lady Gaga).
The “Renovation Aloha” stars included text over the video that said, “Hey … Koa Boy,” with a cut to the puppy sitting and looking up. Cooper says the line, “I just wanted to take another look at you.”
Sweet Koa then climbed up to get closer to the camera, with Lady Gaga singing the line, “Tell me something boy…”
