According to TMZ, Frehley had been hospitalized earlier this month after a fall at his New York studio and later experienced a sudden health decline. Despite medical care, his condition worsened over the past two weeks. At the time, a post on his official Facebook page described it as a “minor fall” and assured fans that he was “fine,” though it confirmed he would cancel his scheduled performance at the Antelope Valley Fair.

A follow-up update on October 6 informed fans that Frehley was canceling the rest of his 2025 tour dates due to “ongoing medical issues,” signaling a decline in his health in the days that followed.

A Bronx Childhood That Shaped a Rock Legend

Born Paul Daniel Frehley on April 27, 1951, in The Bronx, New York, the future KISS icon grew up in a hardworking, musically gifted family. His father, Carl, was a jazz musician and electrical engineer, while his mother, Esther, was a devoted homemaker.

Ace was the youngest of three children, with an older brother, Charles, and a sister, Nancy. His brother first handed him a guitar, a moment that changed his life forever.

Though he often described himself as the “black sheep” of the family, Frehley credited his parents for encouraging his creativity and individuality.

A Life Devoted to Family & Fatherhood

Later in life, Frehley found his greatest joy in fatherhood. With his first wife, actress Jeanette Trerotola, he welcomed their daughter, Monique, on July 6, 1980. Through the highs and lows of fame, his role as a father remained one of his proudest achievements.

In recent years, Frehley and Monique shared a special bond that only deepened over time, even marking their connection with matching tattoos in 2023. Family was always at the heart of his life, and he stayed close to his siblings, Charles and Nancy, who supported him throughout his journey.

Frehley leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, Jeanette, his daughter, Monique, his brother, Charles, and his sister, Nancy Salvner, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended relatives who will continue to honor his memory.
