Police Identify Suspect and Make Arrest After Short Pursuit

As per a report in The New York Post, Authorities identified the suspect as Ivanna Ortiz, a 35-year-old woman from Orlando, Florida.

Investigators say Ortiz allegedly fired several shots from inside a vehicle parked across the street from the property. As per the 911 Dispatch audio accessed by People, at least 10 rounds were directed toward the home before the vehicle left the scene.

Police said the suspect then drove away in a white Tesla, heading south on Coldwater Canyon Drive.

Officers began searching for the vehicle immediately, while a police helicopter followed it from the air. The car was eventually spotted in a shopping center parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where officers detained the suspect roughly 30 minutes after the initial 911 call.

“When they pulled the suspect over and took her into custody, they searched the vehicle and located an assault rifle and seven casings,” said Armen Arias, an LAPD spokesperson, as reported by The L.A Times.

Ortiz is currently being held on $10.2 million bail. Investigators say the motive behind the shooting has not yet been determined.
