Sabrina Carpenter‘s star is certainly on the rise thanks to her popular music. Now, she’s set to mark a major milestone in her career. The singer is scheduled to make her Grand Ole Opry debut.
“‘Oh, boy!’ @sabrinacarpenter is making her Opry debut! The two-time Grammy-award winning global superstar just released her 7th studio album ‘Man’s Best Friend’ and we can’t wait to welcome her to the Opry stage on October 7,” the Grand Ole Opry shared on Instagram on Friday, September 19.
They added, “See you soon, Sabrina!”
Carpenter’s appearance, which will take place on October 7, is part of the Grand Old Opry’s 100-anniversary events. Both Laci Kaye Booth and Kameron Marlowe are also scheduled to perform on the same night as the “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying” singer, while other acts haven’t been announced quite yet.
Fans Were Thrilled (and Confused) About the Announcement
When the Grand Ole Opry took to Instagram to announce the fact that Carpenter would be taking the legendary stage, plenty of followers left enthusiastic replies to the news. One person wrote, “Oh this is gonna be something 💋”
“This is insane and I’m here for it!!! Like will be on 4th row here for it!! 🙌😍,” another person said in a comment. A third fan wrote, “Not on my bingo card but still winning?!”
Granted, some people are a little confused about the addition to the Grand Ole Opry’s upcoming lineup.
“I mean cool, but she’s not country lol,” one person pointed out. Another felt the same, writing, “Ok love her so much but why is she at the opry 😂”
However, another person replied, “i see the vision 100%. she definitely has country influence in her music.”
“Anybody who can’t hear the country sound is her music isn’t listening,” someone else wrote. “Congrats to her — this is an exciting moment!”
Yet another follower of the Grand Ole Opry added some insight, writing, “There are many non-country artists who respect the Opry and desire to play there as kind of a ‘bucket list’ item during their careers. There’s nothing wrong with letting these artists come and make their debuts. Also, allowing super famous people like Sabrina Carpenter helps expand the Opry’s reach and introduces it to a younger generation who may not be familiar with it.”
Carpenter Has a Busy Schedule Coming Up
Along with Carpenter’s Grand Ole Opry debut, she has a full list of upcoming events and appearances. For instance, she’ll be both the host and musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” on October 18.
She’ll then head back out on the road for her Short ‘n Sweet tour hitting up cities like Pittsburgh, New York City and Toronto along the way, according to Rolling Stone.
That’s not to mention the fact that she has been announced as a 2026 Coachella headliner alongside Justin Bieber (who has made history thanks to his Coachella pay) and Karol G.
