In an adorable video shared to Alec’s Instagram, the actor and his young children sat together during an excursion on vacation. The rather sunburnt “It’s Complicated” star said he and his family darted off to the Dominican Republic in celebration of his 68th birthday, which occurred on April 3 — the same day he posted the video.

As Alec explained how this year’s birthday was his favorite birthday since turning 40 years old, his and Hilaria’s eldest daughter, Carmen, 12, made the jaw-dropping comment about the age gap her dad has with her 42-year-old mom.
“I’m 68 years old; what a way to turn 68,” Alec expressed. “My favorite birthday before this was 40. That was a while ago.”
As the actor laughed with his kids, Carmen chimed in to say, “That was a really long time ago.” Alec responded, “How long ago was it, Carmen?”
That’s when Carmen hit him with her humor, rhetorically saying, “Ummm, so mommy was 14?”
The “30 Rock” star directed his attention to the camera to express his shock while Carmen erupted with roaring laughter. Alec captioned the memorable video, joking, “God help me. It’s elder abuse.”

In an episode of “The Baldwins” reality series, Hilaria shared that before she and Alec became serious about their relationship, the actor told her his deep desire to have more children, making sure she’d be willing to take on parenthood with him, TODAY reported.
“He wanted to make sure, before we started seriously dating — ‘I need to have kids again. That is something I want to do,’ he said. That was something that was important for him,” Hilaria explained.
According to an interview with the New York Times, Hilaria shared that after Alec gave her his phone number at the restaurant Pure Food and Wine in New York City, they played cat and mouse over the phone. “So my friend dialed the number, but he didn’t pick up,” Hilaria explained. “And when he called back, I missed the call.” Eventually, though, the two reached one another, leading to their first date in the theater district of Manhattan.
