Anna Nicole Smith and Larry Birkhead’s daughter Dannielynn is 20! Dannielynn celebrated her birthday on Tuesday, September 8, and her proud dad marked the occasion with a sweet Instagram post that showed off his daughter’s bold style transformation. This is the latest look at her ever-changing style as she becomes more confident in embracing who she is.
Dannielynn Shows Off Bold Style Transformations
Birkhead posted a video on Instagram showing a collection of pictures of Dannielynn from throughout the years. The video includes throwback photos from her childhood and more recent ones. In the clip, we also see Dannielynn’s hair transformations; in one photo, she rocks a bold red hairstyle. In another, she has short platinum blond hair. These hairstyle transformations are very different from the last time Dannielynn was spotted in public at the Kentucky Derby in May, when she had dip-dyed blond and brown hair.
GettyIn the caption, Birkhead wrote, “Happy 20th Birthday Dannielynn! Love, Dad.” Fans reacted with loving messages, wishing Dannielynn a happy birthday and praising Birkhead for the great job he has done as a single father.
“You have done an amazing job. Anna Nicole would be so proud. 20 years already? Time flies so fast. Happy birthday to your beautiful daughter,” a comment reads. “Great dad got her as far away from Hollywood as possible,” another fan shared.
Larry Birkhead Discusses Dannielynn’s Style
In May, Birkhead discussed his daughter’s experimentation with her style, telling People she was “coming into her own.” This includes her willingness to try out different hairstyles and how she had told her dad “she wanted something edgy and cool.”
“She chopped it all off and put some wild colors in it,” Birkhead told the publication. “I was kind of bracing myself at the hair salon. I guess she’s at the age to do what she wants to do.” He also shared that despite his initial reservations, Dannielynn is old enough to make her own choices.

Getty“This year is a different style for Dannielynn,” Birkhead said. “People [are] always looking for her to wear something of her mom. And she’s done that a couple times, but this is kind of Dannielynn showing off her own sense of style, and she said it’s a goth rock theme. So we’ve got this total style change-up for her.”
Smith died on February 8, 2007, at age 39. While Dannielynn looks like her mom, she isn’t her, and experimenting with her clothing and hair lets her express herself. “This is kind of, I think, her coming into her own, doing her own thing and kind of exuding her own style and her choices that she made,” Birkhead said. He is incredibly supportive of his daughter.
Anna Nicole Smith’s Daughter Reveals Her New Look
Dannielynn and Smith’s style is different, but they are strikingly similar in appearance. In an interview with Access Hollywood in May, Dannielynn was asked what her mom would think about her new look, to which she replied, “I think she might like it. I can’t really say for sure, but she was cool, and I’m cool.” Birkhead accompanied his daughter in the interview, and he very proudly interjected that the late “The Anna Nicole Show” star would “love” their daughter’s look.
