REPORT: Annie Guthrie & Tommaso Cioni Hire Private Security Amid Ongoing Family Crisis

Annie Guthrie and her husband, Tommaso Cioni, have reportedly hired private security as their family continues to navigate an intensely stressful and public situation as authorities search for Nancy Guthrie.

The report was from a reporter who shared an on-the-ground update to social media this weekend.

Reporter Describes the Security

On the morning of Saturday, Feb.7, independent reporter Jonathan Lee Riches posted that a private security guard was stationed outside Annie and Tommaso’s home, marking a visible step by the family to protect their privacy and safety as media attention continues to grow.

Riches wrote that the guard is parked directly in front of the property and is actively monitoring who approaches the home.

In his posts, Riches later described an interaction with the guard, saying the security officer came over to his vehicle and knocked on his window to ask who he was with.

Riches told him he was with “JLR Investigates” and pointed the guard toward his ongoing coverage related to the Guthrie family.

The Reporter Had an Interact With Security

According to the reporter, the exchange was calm and professional.

“He said he is just trying to get familiarized with what media is out here,” Riches wrote, adding that the guard was “nice” and doing his job.

He also noted that the security presence appeared to be privately hired by the family and not connected to law enforcement.

Riches emphasized that, at the time of his update, there were no law enforcement officers present at the home.

Instead, the scene consisted of media members and paparazzi, making the presence of private security particularly significant.

The guard’s role, according to the report, is to ensure that no one enters the property and to maintain a clear boundary between the family and those gathered nearby.

The decision to hire private security underscores the intense pressure facing the Guthrie family, especially as public interest surrounding the situation remains high.

Savannah Is Reported to Be Staying With Her Sister

For Annie and Tommaso, the added protection appears to be a proactive step to create a sense of safety and control during a period marked by uncertainty and emotional strain.

Neither Annie Guthrie nor Tommaso Cioni has publicly commented on the security measures.

The family has been thrust into the spotlight ever since Nancy disappeared from her home in Tucson, Arizona, and was last seen on the evening of Jan. 31.

As the situation continues to unfold, the family has largely remained out of the public eye, choosing privacy over statements.

However, the family released two videos wishing and praying for Nancy’s safe return as there have been reports of multiple ransom notes.

The reported security presence reflects that approach — quiet, firm, and focused on protection rather than publicity.

Authorities have not indicated any change in the official investigation as of Saturday, and no additional details were provided regarding the family’s next steps.
