Ben Affleck celebrated his 54th birthday with ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their children, Fin and Samuel, in Santa Monica.
The Oscar-winning actor, who turned a year older on Saturday, was spotted enjoying a day out with his teenage kids. Photos shared by the Daily Mail showed the trio strolling through a crowded parking lot.
Another shot showed Affleck and his kids stopping by the upscale market Farmshop. Notably missing from the family’s outing is the former couple’s eldest daughter Violet.
Although Affleck and Garner were not pictured together, the “Elektra” actress was seen at the same store on Saturday, the Daily Mail noted.

For his birthday outing, Affleck kept things casual with a white-striped shirt paired with dark navy pants. He completed the look with a pair of comfy shoes and stylish sunglasses.
As for Garner, she dressed down in a simple black top and a pair of dark green leggings, matched with slip-on shoes. She also accessorized with a blue cap and dark sunglasses.
Last year, Affleck was also joined by Fin and Samuel on his 53rd birthday, grabbing lunch together at Huckleberry Cafe in Santa Monica.

“My life has really changed a lot,” the actor told PEOPLE at the time. “Once I had kids, it became very obvious to me that the priority was time with them.”
Affleck continued, “I’m trying to fit a whole week of dad into three and a half days, [it’s] hard and stressful. My standards really changed. I don’t want to go travel and do something if it’s not really rewarding and meaningful. Yeah, I have to work. The kids know I have to work. Their mom has to work. They understand that. But it’s not like I’m some martyr for my kids. I get more out of it than anything else.”

GettyLast month, Garner praised Affleck as an “incredible co-parent” to their children. She also revealed that his support allowed her to take on her role in “The Five Star Weekend.”
“When it was offered to me, it was supposed to shoot, I think, in Nova Scotia,” Garner told Entertainment Weekly. “I said, ‘I would love to do it, but like everything, I really only work in LA. I have three teenagers, and I can’t leave for four months. It’s just not worth it to me.'”
Ultimately, the producers returned with a plan that would allow her to film mostly in Los Angeles, with just one month of filming in Nantucket.
“They can stay with their dad,” Garner added. “He’s a great partner in that way. And so that’s very freeing.”
Garner also admitted that she has no regrets about prioritizing her family while her children were younger, even if it meant scaling back her career to spend more time with them.
“There is a time in your life where you just do get caught up in all of that,” Garner explained. “And that’s okay. Nothing is forever. That’s a season. And it’s a beautiful thing. And I wouldn’t trade a minute of it. But I feel like my kids are a little bigger [now]. Their dad has become this incredible co-parent.”
