Miss America 2025-2026 Winner Revealed

A new star has risen in the Miss America tradition. Cassie Donegan, representing New York, was crowned the 2026 national pageant winner in Orlando. On Sunday, September 7, Donegan, 27, representing New York, took home the title of Miss America 2026 at the national pageant held at the Walt Disney Theater in Orlando, Fla.

Along with the crown and sash, Donegan received a $50,000 tuition scholarship. She was crowned by outgoing Miss America Abbie Stockard of Alabama, who held the 2025 title.

A Historic Win for New York

Donegan became the 98th Miss America in the organization’s 104-year history and the eighth woman from New York to win the title. See her winning moment right here:

She triumphed over 52 contestants representing every state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.

The first runner-up was Miss Texas, Sadie Schiermeyer, followed by Miss Florida, Paris Richardson, as second runner-up. The new queen also captured the Miss America 2026 Talent Award for her vocal performance.

Actress, Singer & Entrepreneur

A Virginia native, Donegan is both a performer and a business leader. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Musical Theater from Belmont University and has performed professionally nationwide.

She also serves as Chief Operations Officer of Southern Sitter LLC, a women-led childcare company that has expanded into multiple states. Over nearly 20 years, she has directed youth theater programs, curated a K-12 S.T.E.A.M. masterclass, and launched scholarships to expand access to arts education.

“Miss America has always been a powerful springboard for ambitious women to turn their dreams into reality,” Donegan said after her win in a press release published by E! Online. “I am honored to represent an organization that provides scholarships, resources, and a platform for women to lead — and I’m deeply grateful for the chance to bring that mission to life.”

Standing Out With Confidence & Style

During the rapid-fire question round, Donegan spoke passionately about authenticity and self-expression.

“I believe that being true to yourself 100 percent is the most important thing that you can do, and if that includes your self-expression through piercings or tattoos, then 100 percent do it,” she said, as per People magazine. “No one has the right to tell you what you can do with your own body. This is your vessel, and you should be able to walk around proudly in it.”

With a smile, Donegan added her own lighthearted touch. “I, myself, walk around in what my siblings love to call ‘grandma chic,’ and I think that’s great.”

As cheers filled the theater, Donegan secured her crown with more than poise and talent. Her message of authenticity and self-confidence set her apart and will now shape her journey as Miss America 2026.
