Chuck Norris is a legendary martial artist and action star best known for films like “The Delta Force” and the TV series “Walker, Texas Ranger.”

Following his death, many fans are reflecting not only on his career but also on the relationships that shaped his life. Here’s what you need to know.

1. Chuck Norris Married His First Wife, Dianne Holechek, as a Teenager

Norris married his first wife, Dianne Kay Holechek, when they were both teenagers.

The couple met while attending North High School in Torrance, California, during the mid-1950s. Norris later recalled their early relationship in interviews.

“We went together for almost two years, and she was 15 when I started dating her,” Norris said in a 1985 interview. “I was 16 at the time, and then I married her when she was 17.”

They married in 1958 when Norris was 18 years old and Holechek was 17.

Before their wedding, Norris even got a tattoo of her name during a night out with friends.

Their marriage lasted for three decades.

2. The Couple Raised Two Sons During Norris’ Rise to Fame

While Norris built his martial arts and acting career, the couple also raised
a family.

They welcomed their first son, Mike Norris, in 1962 and their second son, Eric Norris, in 1965.

During that period, Norris was competing in martial arts tournaments and beginning to gain recognition in Hollywood. Holechek also pursued business interests, including opening a successful restaurant in California.

Mike later followed in his father’s footsteps in entertainment, appearing as a stuntman and actor in projects including “Rush Hour 3” and “The Crossroads of Hunter Wilde.”

Eric pursued a career in racing and later became a stunt coordinator and driver in film and television.
Chuck Norris Later Learned He Had a Daughter

During his first marriage, Norris had an affair with a woman named Johanna in 1962.

Years later, Johanna’s daughter, Dina, reached out to Norris in 1991 claiming that he was her biological father.

According to accounts shared in Norris’ 2004 book “Against All Odds,” the two eventually met and began building a relationship.

At the height of Norris’ fame, he credited the longevity of their relationship to spending time together while he worked.

“She travels with me,” Norris said in the same 1985 interview. “If you go separate ways, then you know something’s going to happen.”

He added that Holechek often joined him on filming locations so they would not spend extended time apart.

Despite their divorce, the family remained connected.

In December, Norris shared that Holechek had died after battling dementia for several years. He posted a photo with Holechek and their sons on Facebook and wrote that he was “deeply saddened” by her passing.

O’Kelley later appeared in a small role on “Walker, Texas Ranger,” which gave the pair additional time together.

Norris described their early connection in his memoir “Against All Odds.”

“Gena came on the set the next day and played a small part on the show,” Norris wrote. “I invited her to dinner that night.”

He continued, “She came back a couple of weeks later, and our friendship grew into a dating relationship. Before long, I felt myself falling head over heels in love.”

The couple married on November 28, 1998.
