Richard Gere and his second wife, Carey Lowell, welcomed their son, Homer Gere, in 2000. Over the years, Homer has cultivated an interest in the entertainment industry and feels determined to follow in his famous father’s footsteps.
Now, Homer has landed a role in the third season of HBO’s “Euphoria.” As he gains more traction in the industry, Homer knows he has his father to thank.
See how Richard Gere’s son gushed over their relationship.
Homer Gere Looks Up to His Famous Father, ‘Pretty Woman’ Star Richard Gere
GettyAlthough Homer Gere is eagerly exploring the acting world on his own, he’s never too proud to take advice from his father. In fact, he’s more than happy to admit he often asks Richard Gere for pointers.
“It’s not necessarily related to like the craft, but more like how do you carry yourself, how do you make this work in a positive way,” the aspiring thespian shared with Entertainment Tonight. “Having that kind of sounding board constantly is amazing.”
Homer went on to say that he and his father speak on the phone every day, even though they live in different countries. The distance can be challenging, but they make it work. The 26-year-old lives in Los Angeles, while Richard Gere, his wife Alejandra Silva, and their younger sons moved to Spain in 2024.
Although father and son have quite a bit in common, their love and relationship stretches far beyond acting.
“I always love being with my son,” Gere told PEOPLE in 2025. “If we’re out in the woods walking, if we’re here doing something good for other people, I’m always happy to see him.”
The Budding Actor Makes a Splash in ‘Euphoria’ Season 3
Homer Gere finally got his foot in the door after landing the role of Dylan Reid in “Euphoria” season 3.
“I mean it’s been wild. This is my first real set experience. I mean, I did a lot of short films in college and stuff, but stepping into this is jumping into the deep end in a really cool way,” Homer told Entertainment Tonight, sharing that he found out he landed the role two days before he had to be on set.
Homer describes Dylan Reid as an actor on the show, who stars in the fictional “LA Nights” series in the “Euphoria” universe. Playing a fictional actor had its challenges, but Homer feels confident in his portrayal.
The reporter asked what Richard Gere thinks of his son’s latest role and whether or not they practiced for the show together.
“I don’t run lines with him. That would be funny though, I should do that,” the 26-year-old joked.
Although Homer didn’t have any scenes with Zendaya, he seemed to thoroughly enjoy his time on the “Euphoria” set. He claimed he wasn’t sure how much he was allowed to share, but noted that Sharon Stone “was the best” and “the most lovely.”
New episodes of “Euphoria” season 3 air at 9 p.m. each Sunday night on HBO.
