Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer managed to celebrate a major personal milestone in the middle of one of their busiest creative periods.
Meyer reflected on her April 2025 wedding to Stewart in an exclusive interview with People published Aug. 14, revealing that the couple tied the knot while juggling multiple film projects and an upcoming trip to the Cannes Film Festival.
“We got married in between shooting this movie and doing [post-production] on this movie a week before we went to Cannes for her movie,” Meyer told the outlet.
Meyer was referring to “The Wrong Girls,” which she wrote and directed with Stewart starring. The filmmaker described that period of their lives as both “electric” and, at times, “overwhelming.”
Dylan Meyer Reflects on Wedding to Kristen Stewart
Stewart and Meyer married at Casita Del Campo in Los Angeles on April 20, 2025.
A source told People at the time that approximately 170 guests attended the celebration, including Ashley Benson and her husband, Brandon Davis.
The event maintained a relaxed atmosphere while giving the couple an opportunity to celebrate with their loved ones. Guests enjoyed music from two DJs and food that included sushi bars, according to the outlet.
Meyer’s latest comments provide more context about just how much was happening around the wedding.
Shortly after getting married, the couple traveled to Cannes for Stewart’s directorial project, “The Chronology of Water.” Meanwhile, Meyer was working on “The Wrong Girls.”
Stewart previously gave People a similarly enthusiastic description of that period while attending the Variety Creative Impact Awards in January.
“I got married. My wife made her a movie. I starred in it. I made my movie. We went to Cannes,” Stewart said while describing 2025 as the “craziest year” of her life.
The actress jokingly compared herself to being “carbonated” after such an eventful stretch and said she was ready to “fizz out.”
GettyKristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer Took Their Relationship From Engagement to Collaboration
Stewart and Meyer made their relationship Instagram official in October 2019 before getting engaged two years later.
Stewart revealed during an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show” that Meyer ultimately proposed after the couple had playfully discussed which of them would make the first move.
The actress praised her future wife for how she handled the moment, saying Meyer “knocked it out of the park.”
Their relationship has remained relatively private since then, although Meyer has occasionally shared affectionate glimpses of their life together on social media.
Their creative partnership has now given audiences another look at their dynamic.
Meyer wrote and directed “The Wrong Girls,” a stoner comedy starring Stewart alongside Alia Shawkat and LaKeith Stanfield. The movie opened in theaters Aug. 14.
That collaboration came during the same whirlwind period that included their wedding and Stewart’s own work behind the camera.
More than a year later, Meyer can look back on the packed schedule with some perspective. Their wedding may have arrived between film shoots, post-production and Cannes, but the hectic timing didn’t stop Stewart and Meyer from making room for one of their biggest moments together.
