Actress and filmmaker Kristen Stewart has revealed some rare and intimate details about her wife, the filmmaker and screenwriter Dylan Meyer.
Stewart, 36, married Meyer, 39, on Sunday, April 20, in 2025. The ceremony was “intimate” and took place at Mexican restaurant Casita Del Campo in Los Angeles, California (per TMZ).
The couple first met on a movie set back in 2013. However, it wasn’t until 2019, following Stewart’s split from Stella Maxwell, that their relationship developed into a romantic one. They became engaged in 2021, with Meyer being the one who ultimately popped the question.
Stewart and Meyer have recently worked together on an upcoming movie. Meyer has made her directorial debut with stoner comedy “The Wrong Girls,” which Stewart is starring in. “Twilight” and “Spencer” star Stewart spoke to E! News about the film and spoke openly about her wife.
Kristen Stewart Is Impressed by Dylan Meyer’s Directing Abilities
Will Marfuggi of E! News spoke to Kristen Stewart, Dylan Meyer, and actress Alia Shawkat about their upcoming film “The Wrong Girls.”
During the chat, Stewart went into great detail about why Meyer’s personality and traits make her such a great director, despite “The Wrong Girls” being her directorial debut.
Stewart said, “It’s the way that she chooses the people that surround the thing that she loves so much. You have to find people that love it just as much, because as a filmmaker, it’s yours first, but then it has to transfer.”
Of her wife, she added, “Dylan has this beautiful, delicate, gentle, inviting ability to be like, ‘This is yours.’ And so the crew was ready to jump into any hot or cold water for her. It was so much fun to make this movie.”
Needless to say, Meyer thinks equally highly of Stewart as an actress. She told E! News she even had her wife in mind for the lead role of Frankie before they started dating.
Meyer said, “I actually shared it with her probably seven years before we ever reconnected and started dating. When I first met her, I always wanted Kristen to be in the movie.”
The director then jokingly clarified to her wife, “That’s not why I started dating you.”
She then added, “On its surface, a lot of people have been surprised by this casting, but to know Kristen is to know that she’s kind of similar to me and to these characters.”
