Canadian model and actor Paul Anthony Kelly has become a dad for the first time. The “Love Story” star — who appears in the first season of the anthology series, which is entitled “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette” — has welcomed a child with Sydney Widziszewski, his wife of nearly three years.
Per People, Kelly, 37, confirmed the lovely news on this week’s episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
On the show, Clarkson enthusiastically said to Kelly, “You just became a dad!” To which Kelly replied, “I did, yeah. Thank you so much.”

GettyAfter sharing his wonderful news with Kelly Clarkson, Paul Anthony Kelly was asked by the daytime talk show host and singer-songwriter, 43, if he was finding fatherhood tiring.
Kelly responded, “A little bit. Yeah,” before laughing and adding, “That’s like an understatement for sure.”
Per People, Kelly’s wife and the mother of his child (the gender of which has yet to be made public), Sydney Widziszewski, is a production coordinator/manager. The couple tied the knot in May 2023 and they live in Portland, Oregon, with their dog, Malcolm.
In an Instagram post published in May 2024, Kelly captioned a series of photographs of the couple saying, “One year ago we tied the proverbial knot and since that day I have been the happiest and healthiest I think I’ve ever been. I love you more than words will ever do justice. To several lifetimes more… X. @sydwidziszewski.”
We’re sure we’ll learn more about their baby in due course.
Kelly Had No Professional Acting Experience Before ‘Love Story’
Per his IMDb page, Paul Anthony Kelly didn’t have any professional acting experience before being cast in “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette.”
In the series, he plays the late John F. Kennedy Jr. opposite Sarah Pidgeon, who plays the late Carolyn Bessette.
Kennedy Jr. was an attorney, magazine publisher, and journalist, while Bessette was a fashion publicist. They tragically passed away along with Bessette’s older sister, Lauren, in July, 1999, when the light plane Kennedy Jr. was piloting plummeted into the Atlantic Ocean off the west coast of Martha’s Vineyard.
The show’s IMDb synopsis reads, “Explores the undeniable chemistry, whirlwind courtship and high-profile marriage of one of the most iconic couples of the 20th century, John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette.”
It’s earning great reviews, with Slate’s David Mack writing, “Somehow, despite a degree of current-day Kennedy fatigue, this FX series feels fresh and compelling.” It currently boasts an impressive 82% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
“Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette” is currently airing on FX and Hulu. The first four episodes released on February 12, the second on February 19, and the third today, February 26. The final four episodes will hit the platforms on March 5, March 12, March 19, and March 26, respectively. We can’t wait to see them.
