“This Is Us” alum Mandy Moore has been married to singer Taylor Goldsmith since 2017, with the couple sharing three children. Recently, in a new interview, the singer/actress opened up about the two-week rule she employs with the musician to keep their marriage strong.
Regarding their relationship, Moore and Goldsmith began dating in 2015. After that, they became engaged in 2016 and married the following year. Their first child was born in 2021, with her giving birth again in 2022 and then again in 2024.
Many Moore Discusses Making Her Marriage to Taylor Goldsmith a Priority
GettyMoore spoke to PEOPLE in September 2026, with the topic of her marriage to Goldsmith coming up during the conversation. When asked how they keep their marriage strong amid balancing their family life with their respective careers, the actress said, “We are a priority.”
Regarding maintaining balance, the actress stated, “Obviously, the kids are always going to be a priority, but our marriage is just as much of a priority because if we’re able to be an aligned unit, I think it makes us just better parents, better partners, better for each other, better for everybody.”
After that, Moore shared that she and Goldsmith try their best not to have work commitments at the same time. According to her, “He’s had a crazy, busy summer with touring and recording and stuff, so I’ve been home kind of holding down the fort here.”
She then explained the two-week role, saying, “He doesn’t like to be away for more than two weeks at a time, but even two weeks now feels like a long time.” The “This Is Us” star went on to say that they are “making sure that we are scheduling in a date night every now and then.”
From there, she mentioned that her mother-in-law lives near them, making date nights a bit easier thanks to her babysitting. Moore continued, “So tonight, we’re going to put the kids down, and we’re going to go have a little date. Our favorite restaurant is down the street, so we feel less guilty about that.”
Returning to the conversation about their marriage, Moore emphasized the importance of their connecting with one another. She added, “It keeps us engaged and both on the same page with everything.”

GettyMoore married Goldsmith in November 2018. Ahead of the wedding, the actress spoke to Us Weekly, telling the outlet that she’d found her person following her failed marriage to Ryan Adams. First, she told the outlet that their wedding was “Important.”
After that, she reflected, saying, “And I’ve never really — until this point in my life — ever dreamt about that or thought [about an] actual wedding … Hopefully as that time gets nearer and closer, the significance of it isn’t lost on me to be able to share in that moment.”
The mom of three explained, “Because I’m with my person. I’m with the right person. It will mean a lot, I think, to be surrounded by friends and family and to say certain things to each other in front of them.”
