Martin Lawrence’s pregnant daughter Jasmin Lawrence is sharing a special update about her baby on the way with husband Eric Murphy and the name has officially been revealed.
Following a recent baby shower, Jasmin, 30, took to Instagram Stories to announce that she and Eric, 36, are expecting a baby girl named Ari Skye Murphy. In a video clip from the celebration, the mom-to-be gently rubbed her belly and said, “Ari Skye. Mommy loves you so much. This day is all for you.” She later wrote across the video, “My baby 💗 Ari Skye Murphy 💗.”
According to People, the couple celebrated their daughter with family and friends before sharing the sweet moment online. The announcement marks the latest milestone for the pair, whose relationship has continued to make headlines in recent years.
A Growing Family for Two Comedy Legacies
Jasmin and Eric first announced they were expecting their first child together on Feb. 2 with a joint Instagram post. In the black-and-white maternity photos, Jasmin wore an off-the-shoulder dress that highlighted her baby bump, while Eric rested his head on her stomach and smiled at the camera. “Thank you Jesus for the greatest gift ❤️❤️❤️,” they captioned the post.
The pregnancy news comes less than a year after the couple quietly tied the knot. In May 2025, Eddie Murphy revealed during an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” that Eric and Jasmin had married in an intimate church ceremony with just the two of them and a preacher present. Per The Independent, the couple originally had larger wedding plans but opted to keep the ceremony private. Eddie joked that Martin Lawrence no longer had to worry about paying for a “big wedding,” adding, “We’re in-laws.”
Before marriage and baby news, the pair got engaged in November 2024 after more than three years of dating. They announced their engagement with a joint Instagram post featuring video footage of Eric proposing in a candlelit room decorated with white roses. The clip was set to “Spend My Life With You” by Eric Benét and captured Jasmin’s emotional reaction as she said yes.
