Tour Paused Following Katherine Short’s Death

TMZ reported that Katherine died on February 23 at the age of 42.

Several performances originally scheduled for March were postponed and later rescheduled for September as the family took time to grieve.

Katherine was the daughter of Short and his late wife, Nancy Dolman, who died of ovarian cancer in 2010. The couple adopted three children together. Katherine grew up alongside her brothers, Oliver Patrick, 39, and Henry Hayter, 36.

Her family later confirmed the heartbreaking loss in a statement to the LA Times.

“It is with profound grief that we confirm the passing of Katherine Hartley Short. The Short family is devastated by this loss and asks for privacy at this time. Katherine was beloved by all and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world.”

Despite the personal loss, plans for the Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building” are moving forward as scheduled.

TMZ reported on March 2 that Sources familiar with the production say filming is not currently underway. The next season is expected to begin shooting later this year.

The upcoming installment is set to film in London, which has slightly pushed the production timeline beyond its usual schedule.

Martin and Short star in the hit comedy alongside Selena Gomez. Since its debut, “Only Murders in the Building” has become one of Hulu’s most popular and widely watched series.

Katherine Short’s Work and Community Impact

Katherine devoted much of her professional life to supporting others through mental health care. According to a report in The Guardian, she worked as a licensed clinical social worker in private practice.

She was also involved with the clinic Amae Health, where she helped lead community outreach efforts and participated in family support groups, peer support programs, and psychotherapy services. Her family said she will be remembered for the kindness, warmth, and positivity she brought to those around her.

As the comedy tour prepares to resume, fans continue to express support for Short and his family while honoring the memory of Katherine, whose life touched many both personally and professionally.
