A new update has been released regarding the case involving beloved Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele’s, tragic murder.
NBC4 Los Angeles reports that the Los Angeles medical examiner’s office has placed a hold on information in their murders, with the security hold being initiated by the Los Angeles Police Department. This means “no other information on records, including the medical examiner’s report, can be released or posted until further notice.”
“The Department understands the public’s interest in these cases and remains committed to transparency when possible,” the medical examiner’s office told the outlet. “Information will be made available once the court order is lifted.”
Nick Reiner Set to Appear in Court on January 7
GettyNick Reiner is facing charges in the murder of his parents and appeared in court for the first time on December 17. He is set to return on January 7.
Specifically, Nick waived his right to enter a plea, which is why the arraignment was pushed back. The BBC reported that the only three words he said in court were “yes, your honor,” when asked about his decision not to go with the speedy trial.
As for his time in prison, Nick is being held in solitary confinement and on safety watch, with a police source telling the outlet that he is required to wear a blue suicide-prevention smock at all times. He is also not permitted to speak with anyone other than his legal counsel and authorized personnel at the jail.
“This is important so that no one compromises this high-profile case, and so that no civilian or inmate can ask him questions, such as why he killed his parents,” the source told PEOPLE.
Rob & Michele Reiner ‘Tried So Hard’ to Help Nick Reiner Over the Years
An Insider who spoke with PEOPLE, detailed the extent that Rob and Michele went to try and help their son with his substance abuse struggles. Specifically, they “tried so hard already for years” to help Nick, but he “didn’t take the support seriously.”
Another insider told the outlet, “At the end of the day, Nick didn’t take the help seriously. This was true for years and years. His issues were far, far out of his parents’ control.”
“Nick lied a lot. He was unreliable, but he was also convincing and intelligent,” the insider added. “His family was empathetic to how much his struggles contributed to his behavior. They never lost hope in him, even when he was scaring them or making their lives harder.”
Haven’t we had enough? Two famous people (well, one was famous, his wife more by association) were, as best can be determined, brutally murdered in their home. Their son has been charged with the crime, and there’s been a plethora of information about his history, the parents’ efforts to deal with a difficult family issue, not to mention the hollywood party the evening of the incident, blah, blah blah.

I’m in the minority but I think that maybe this case has been put to bed too soon. I feel that the culprit was apprehended and conclusions made too quickly. The only thing left is for him to off himself and then they’ll cremate the body and the investigation is all over. It may not be Nick who committed this heinous crime or it may be Nick to some degree but not all. Maybe there was more than one person involved in committing this crime. Maybe Nick hired people to do this. Maybe someone else hired people. Maybe it was done for insurance since Rob Reiner was no longer earning top money for his films. Maybe it was the Star Whackers. Maybe it was a person or persons who have been known for cutting throats (terrorists). Were the Reiners decapitated? Sounds like somebody tried. Maybe it was something else all together. We only see one person charged with this crime and there he is, all neat and tidy, the case wrapped up while he’s sitting in jail. I have my doubts that Nick did all that. Murdering two people with a knife or machete etc is a lot of carnage for one person who has never killed anyone. Bottom line, details are sketchy and on lockdown and the entire system from coroners to police to investigators is corrupt. The corruption has been around for ages. Like OJ, we may never know what really happened. People might say that this is a conspiracy theory, but the reason why conspiracy theories are around is because the people don’t think that we are being told the truth.
