Michael B. Jordan is in charge of the highly anticipated Apple TV adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’ “Fourth Wing” series. The “Sinners” star and his production company are developing the beloved fantasy series.
“When it’s done the right way, I think you can have a nice balance where casting won’t be distracting,” Jordan told BCC about the casting for the series in an interview published Wednesday, February 11.
“It allows people to, like, fall in love with the characters that they have imagined in their head without any baggage, with projecting their own feelings on certain casts,” he added.

The “Friday Night Lights” alum knows that a beloved book franchise with such a devoted fanbase requires careful consideration at every decision.
“So just know, it’s nothing cheesy coming out. It ain’t no obvious choices. I think it’s going to be something that feels honest,” he told BCC.

The Oscar nominee, who will serve as executive producer on the series, remained coy about whether or not he will appear in front of the camera.
“I don’t know,” he said repeatedly.
Jordan previously told Deadline that he and the crew know “how much people care about this” series, but that the project is in good hands.
“We are making sure that this is going to be [an] exciting show that delivers on all of the things the fans want and some of the things that they won’t be expecting either,” he said in January.
‘Fouth Wing’ Series Announced
The series’ author, Rebecca Yarros, first announced the television adaptation in October 2023, just six months after the first book’s release.

We’ve been sitting on this news since last DECEMBER and I finally get to tell you!!!!” she shared via Instagram. “I’m so humbled and thrilled to announce that FOURTH WING has been optioned and is currently in development for a TV series by Amazon MGM Studios with Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society producing!!! They’re an ABSOLUTELY incredible team, and I can’t wait to see their adaptation of ‘Fourth Wing’ brought to life! I have all the faith in the world in them!”
She added, “And OMMMMG, I get to executive produce, too! Words can’t portray just how excited I am and how grateful to work with such amazing people!”
