MrBeast, YouTuber and host of the competition show “Beast Games,” has had a successful year, both professionally and personally. When he made an appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, September 7, he was joined by his fiancée, Thea Booysen. The couple looked so in love!

MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, and Booysen, who is an internet personality, have been engaged since December 2024. The couple first met in 2022 when MrBeast was on a trip to South Africa, where Booysen is originally from. They made their first public appearance at the Kids’ Choice Awards in April 2022, People reports.
Seeing them together on the 2025 MTV VMA red carpet was a rare treat for fans. The couple posed for photos with MrBeast wearing a classic black suit and white collared shirt. He left the first button undone for a more casual finish. Booysen looked gorgeous in a pearl-detailed mini dress with a plunging neckline.
On the red carpet, they posed for pictures, smiling into the camera and looking into each other’s faces. They also held hands.
Also on display was Booysen’s engagement ring, which she was gifted on Christmas Day in 2024. “My family flew out from South Africa for Christmas, and we were going to do Christmas in our house, so both families were here. We were opening presents, and then for the very last present, he asked me to close my eyes because it was a surprise,” she told People on January 1, 2025.
A Look At MrBeast & Thea Booysen’s Relationship
The couple appears to be very happy together, but they met by chance. “Jimmy was coming down to South Africa with Logan Paul and Casey Neistat, and they had a video they wanted to film in Antarctica,” Booysen revealed in an interview on the “Wide Awake Podcast” in 2023, People reports. “Everybody got COVID, so they had to cancel the video and stay in South Africa a little bit longer.”
She had dinner with MrBeast after being invited out by a mutual friend. “The fact that he could keep up with the conversation to me was very attractive because you have to have a certain amount of interest and intellect,” Booysen said.
