CBS is giving viewers plenty to look forward to in 2026. The network has unveiled three new specials set to air later in the year, including a historic first for a long-running game show.
The MTV Video Music Awards (Sunday, September 27, 2026)
CBS kicks off its fall specials with the “2026 MTV Video Music Awards” (VMAs). The iconic music awards show is returning to the West Coast for the first time since 2017, with the ceremony set to broadcast live from the Peacock Theater on CBS. It’ll also simulcast on MTV and stream live on Paramount+ in the U.S.
Madonna leads this year’s nominations with 11 nods, including Video of the Year for “Confessions II — The Film,” Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year for “Bring Your Love.”
Taylor Swift follows closely behind with nine nominations, including Video of the Year, Best Pop, and Best Cinematography for “The Fate of Ophelia.” She also earned a nomination for Artist of the Year.
Other artists with multiple nominations include Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter (7 each), Bruno Mars and PinkPantheress (6 each), Zara Larsson (5), Lisa (4), and Shakira and Tate McRae (3 each).
The VMAs will air on September 27, 2026, at 7:30-9:30 PM ET/4:30-6:30 PM PT.
Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (Saturday, November 14, 2026)
CBSCBS is also set to air the “Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (KCAs),” marking the network’s debut telecast of the show in its nearly 40-year history.
The event, which celebrates fans’ favorites across film, television, music, sports, and more, will simulcast live from Los Angeles on CBS and Nickelodeon.
“Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards” will air on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 8:00-9:30 PM, ET/5:00-6:30 PM, PT.
The Price Is Right Live
CBSFans of “The Price Is Right” are in for a historic treat as the long-running game show airs a live Christmas event on CBS, marking a first in the show’s 54-year history.
“The Price Is Right Live” gives viewers “unprecedented behind-the-scenes access alongside Carey, Gray, the models and production team as they race to keep the show on track-resetting games, transforming the stage and beating the clock,” per the network.
Contestants get to play some fan-favorite games live, including Plinko, Cliffhangers and Lucky Seven, before spinning The Big Wheel for a shot at a luxury showcase.
“The Price Is Right Live” will air in December.
CBS New Series Lineup for 2026–27
‘NCIS: New York’ (Tuesday, October 6, 2026)
CBS is expanding the NCIS universe with “NCIS: New York,” a new series centered on fan-favorite agent Sam Hanna (LL Cool J). After returning to his hometown, Hanna teams up with the street-smart and unpredictable Detective Danny “Danno” Williams (Scott Caan) to take on high-stakes cases and help lead a new team of agents.
‘Eternally Yours’ (Thursday, October 8, 2026)
CBS“Eternally Yours” follows Charles (Ed Weeks) and Liz (Allegra Edwards), a vampire couple who have been married for 500 years. Their centuries-long marriage is put to the test when they struggle to accept their daughter’s new human love interest.
‘Cupertino’ (Thursday, October 8, 2026)
Also joining CBS’ fall lineup is “Cupertino,” a legal drama set in the heart of Silicon Valley. The series follows a wronged lawyer (Mike Colter) and a young attorney (Rachel Keller) as they take on some of the region’s most powerful tech giants.
‘Einstein’ (Midseason Series)
“Einstein” follows the story of Lewis Einstein (Matthew Gray Gubler), the brilliant but aimless great-grandson of Albert Einstein, as he uses his exceptional intellect to help a local police detective (Melissa Fumero) solve crimes.
