The clock is ticking on the ransom deadline in the Nancy Guthrie disappearance case. Now, a search radius has been determined based on details seen in the alleged ransom note.
TMZ Determined an Apparent Search Radius
TMZ, one of the outlets that reported receiving an alleged ransom note in the days following Guthrie’s disappearance, revealed unreleased details just hours ahead of the apparent deadline.
“The note references obviously demand for payment,” Harvey Levin said during the Monday, February 9, episode of “TMZ Live.” “Once payment is made, there is a time reference on how quickly Nancy will be returned [to Tucson]. And when they say return to Tucson, you look at that time period and you have to imagine if they’re saying it will be within a certain period of time, you look at how would they get her back?”
By process of elimination, the outlet determined that driving would be the most likely means of transportation for Nancy’s captors.
“And so when they drive, they’re not going to drive over the speed limit because if they get stopped, the game is over for them,” Levin continued. “We have now looked at a 60 mph radius, given the time frame that is in that letter.”
The outlet then showed a map, using Tucson is the center point, that highlighted Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, parts of California, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Wyoming, as well as northern Mexico and western Texas.
Savannah Guthrie Issues Urgent Plea
The “Today” host shared a heartbreaking message early Monday, begging for anyone with information to come forward, as the search for her missing mother enters its second week.
“Hi everybody. I wanted to come on and just share a few thoughts as we enter into another week of this nightmare,” Guthrie began in an emotional video shared via Instagram on Monday, February 9. “I just wanted to say first of all, thank you so much for all of the prayers and the love that we have felt, my sister and brother and I. And that our mom has felt, because we believe that somehow, some way, she is feeling these prayers and that God is lifting her even in this moment and in this darkest place.”
She added, “We believe our mom is still out there. We need your help…Law enforcement is working tirelessly, around the clock, trying to bring her home. Trying to find her. She was taken, and we don’t know where.”
Guthrie’s alleged kidnappers demand $6 million in bitcoin be transferred to an anonymous account by Monday at 5:00 p.m. local time.
