Noah Wyle and George Clooney starred together in the first five seasons of “ER” from 1994 to 1999, when the latter departed the series. Now, decades later, the “Pitt” and “Jay Kelly” stars have reunited for a great cause ahead of the 2026 Golden Globes.
Both Wyle and Clooney attended the Movies for Grown Ups Awards on January 10. ExtraTV shared photos of the actors at the event. They include them on stage at the ceremony and backstage.
The AARP is responsible for the ceremony, which honors movies and television shows made by people over 50. Its goal is to encourage Hollywood to produce more content featuring people from this demographic.
Noah Wyle & George Clooney Praised One Another
GettyAccording to The Hollywood Reporter, Clooney and Wyle reunited twice at the ceremony. While presenting Wyle the award for Best TV Actor for his role in “The Pitt,” Clooney joked that the AARP should create a “Sexiest Man Still Alive” award.
“I would nominate Noah Wyle as the first guy. I met Noah in 1993. He hadn’t worked a lot yet, and we did this show called ER, and it was this crazy hit. At one time, we had 40 million people watching, and I remember Noah going, ‘Is that good?’ I was like, ‘That’s good, that’ll never happen again.’ He was wise beyond his years from the very beginning, from the very start.
He was the kindest person I ever met. We became very dear friends very quickly, and remained that way. I’m very proud to call him a friend, I’m also proud to call him a colleague. When I grow up, I want to be Noah Wyle.”
While accepting the award, Wyle said, “You got me choked up there, buddy. I remember vividly, the first week of ER, he called the entire cast into his trailer and said, ‘OK, everybody, this is how it’s gonna be. We’re going to be nice to everyone. There’s not going to be any divisions between the cast and crew or foreground and background, we’re going to learn our lines, we’re going to be on time.’
After that, that was the way it worked, and the first 15 years of my career, that is how it worked. And I spent the next 15 years trying to find that feeling — that sense of family, that sense of commitment. It was only with The Pitt that I found it again.”
Later, Clooney won the best actor award for his role in “Jay Kelly.”
Both Actors Are Enjoing Success in 2026
For Clooney, his latest film, “Jay Kelly,” was released on Netflix in November 2025. So far, it has been well received with its 77% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. In additon to Clooney, the film stars Adam Sandler, Billy Crudup, and Emily Mortimer. Both Clooney and Sandler received nominations for the 2026 Golden Globes.
Wyle is also having a great 2026. His hit HBO Max series, “The Pitt,” returned for its second season in January 2026 to rave reviews. According to Nerdist, the show has already been renewed for season three. “The Pitt” is also nominated for two Golden Globes- Best Drama TV Series and Best Actor for Wyle.
