Canadian model and actor Paul Anthony Kelly has been talking about what it’s like to be a father.
The “Love Story” star — who plays John F. Kennedy Jr. in the first season of the anthology series, which is entitled “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette” — was speaking to People at an FYC event for the FX show on Wednesday, April 29.
It was the same event at which Kelly’s co-star, Naomi Watts, revealed she missed her honeymoon to accept her role in the series.
Kelly had nothing but positive things to say about his early experiences of fatherhood.
Paul Anthony Kelly Became a Father in February
Paul Anthony Kelly became a father earlier this year. Kelly and his wife of three years, Sydney Widziszewski, welcomed their first child in February.
The couple, who married in May 2023, tend to keep their relationship private, with the occasional social media post the only real insight fans get into it.
However, in his chat with People, Kelly spoke about both Sydney and balancing fatherhood with his career quite openly.
He said, “I cannot speak more highly about my wife and just like the support that she has [given me]… becoming a father during this crazy whirlwind [time] is definitely not without its challenges.”
Kelly continued, “But the moment I’m home, I’m just present and in dad mode and changing diapers and cleaning up puke and all the good stuff that comes along with it. But it is the most magical experience, and I couldn’t be happier.”
It’s lovely to know Paul Anthony Kelly and Sydney Widziszewski have taken to parenthood so well.
Kelly Is Thriving in His First Acting Role
GettyIt’s hard to believe, given the rave reviews he’s getting, but “Love Story” was the first professional acting job Paul Anthony Kelly ever landed.
Per IMDb, the show’s plot is as follows: “Explores the undeniable chemistry, whirlwind courtship and high-profile marriage of one of the most iconic couples of the 20th century, John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette.”
As previously touched upon, Kelly plays the late businessman, attorney, magazine publisher, and journalist John F. Kennedy Jr. in the show.
He plays opposite Sarah Pidgeon, who plays the late fashion publicist Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.
The real-life couple passed away on July 16, 1999, along with Carolyn’s older sister Lauren Bessette, when the light plane John Jr. was piloting crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off the western coast of Martha’s Vineyard.
Support for Kelly and Pidgeon in “Love Story” comes from Grace Gummer, who plays John Jr.’s older sister Caroline Kennedy, and the aforementioned Naomi Watts, who plays Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, the former First Lady of the United States and John’s mother.
Kelly’s debut screen performance has contributed to “Love Story” having an impressive 81% Rotten Tomatoes approval rating.
Per IMDb, it has also landed him the role of Spencer Duffy in an episode of Anna Moriarty’s upcoming drama series “The Venery of Samantha Bird.” We’re sure it will also lead to many more.
