Quentin Tarantino’s Hollywood Hills property became the center of a police investigation Wednesday after authorities responded to reports that an intruder had entered the residence.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were initially dispatched for a possible burglary and searched the property, according to reports from TMZ and NBC4.
Tarantino, 63, was not home during the incident, and police ultimately took a trespassing report. The investigation remains ongoing.

Police received an initial call describing the situation as a “hot prowl,” a term authorities use when a suspected burglary is believed to be taking place while someone may be inside the residence.
TMZ reported that a trespasser breached Tarantino’s property Wednesday and left before officers arrived.
A separate report from the New York Post said a gardener spotted a man allegedly entering the second floor of the three-story Hollywood Hills property during the afternoon.
Police described the individual as about 35 years old, wearing black pants and a long-sleeved black top.

The Oscar-winning filmmaker was not at the residence when officers responded. Police searched the property after arriving but found no one inside, NBC4 reported.

That February, he publicly apologized to Roman Polanski’s victim, Samantha Geimer, for comments he’d made defending Polanski in a 2003 interview, according to CBC News.
The apology came the same week Uma Thurman went public with allegations that Tarantino pressured her into a dangerous driving stunt on the set of “Kill Bill” that left her seriously injured, an incident he later called “the biggest regret of my life,” according to ABC News.
