Roku Just Added 15 More Free Channels to Its Lineup

Roku viewers have more free channels to scroll through the next time they open The Roku Channel.

The streaming platform added 15 more live channels that are free for Roku TV and Roku Player users, according to Cord Cutters News.

The latest additions span reality TV, sports, news, travel, science, art, music, competition shows, and creator-led programming.

The new channels are available through The Roku Channel, which is Roku’s free streaming section. Viewers do not need a paid subscription to watch them, but they do have ads.

According to Cord Cutters News, the 15 new channels are:

• SI TV Sports Illustrated
• Lead Story Breaking News
• Astro Ciencia
• The Prof G Channel
• Caracol Mix
• Rokie Blue
• Modern Wisdom
• America’s Got Talent

• Live PD Greatest Shifts
• Nomad Travel
• Preston & Brianna

The channels appear alongside The Roku Channel’s existing free live TV options. The streaming platform’s users can access them through supported Roku TVs and Roku Players.

The Roku Channel does not require a paid subscription. Its free programming is ad-supported, so viewers may see commercials while watching live channels, movies, and shows.

The latest rollout follows Roku’s April channel expansion, when The Roku Channel added 22 other free live channels to the platform.

The Roku Channel started in 2017 as a free place to watch movies and TV shows for those who own the streaming device.

Since then, it’s gotten much bigger. It added more shows, more movies, kids programming, original shows, and live channels.

It’s not just on Roku TVs anymore either. People can also watch The Roku Channel on the app, on the web, and on some other smart TVs.

Roku Originals also became part of The Roku Channel after the streaming giant bought shows from Quibi in 2021. That gave the service another group of shows to offer viewers for free.

The live TV section includes channels that play programming on a schedule. It has continued adding new channels to that section, including the 15 channels in the latest rollout.

Roku also made another free-channel update in April 2026. According to Cord Cutters News, The Roku Channel added 22 free live channels that month.
