Actress and “Grease” star Stockard Channing has opened up to reveal what part of the beloved musical she hates. Speaking in a recent interview, Channing explained that one moment in the film that she has always avoided and can’t bear to watch.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Channing was asked by the interviewer if she felt that she was “done a little dirty” by the cartoon that features during the opening credits of the film. Answering immediately, the actress agreed and explained that she has always felt hard done by from the illustration.
Channing had a significant part in the 1978 movie, playing Pink Ladies leader Rizzo. Like the rest of the main cast, she is represented by a caricature drawing while the title sequence plays. It essentially acted as an animated introduction to the characters before the live-action starts. However, Channing is simply not a fan of how she is portrayed.

Almost 50 years after “Grease” was first released in cinemas, Channing has admitted that the caricature now seems worse than ever. The cartoon features Rizzo with exaggerated cheeks and facial features.
Responding to the question posed by the interviewer, Channing quickly called out “my cheeks.” When she was actually shown the image, she went on to say, “Well, I felt the same way. That’s even worse than I remember. Look at that!”
She added, “And I do agree that cartoon was unfortunate. It was my nightmare vision of self.”
Her “Practical Magic 2” co-star Dianne Wiest agreed that it was a bad representation. She said, “How could they do that? Who did that?”
Stockard Channing Has Only Watched ‘Grease’ Twice
Despite being one of her most famous and enduring roles, Channing revealed that it isn’t a film she revisits often. She explained that she has actually only seen “Grease” twice. The first time was at its original premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. The actress then went on to see it again 20 years later at the same location.
“I do not watch it. That’s it. I’m afraid,” the Emmy winner said. “I’m very proud of it, but I don’t watch it.” She went on to explain that whenever it comes on television, she chooses to switch over.
None of that means that Channing has anything against “Grease.” In fact, she has previously described the film as “so beautifully made” and said that it “looks extraordinary.”

GettyChanning’s comments come as she returns to the spotlight after several years away from acting. She has reprised her role from the original “Practical Magic,” once again playing Aunt Frances. In the original 1998 movie, Channing and Wiest portrayed older mentors to Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman’s characters.
In the sequel, all four travel to the United Kingdom to search for a way to break a long-lasting spell. This sees any man who falls in love with a female member of the family die in tragic circumstances.
She was recently spotted while attending the “Practical Magic 2” European premiere in London. This marked her first red carpet appearance in two years.
