Teyana Taylor was involved in a tense confrontation with a security guard moments after the 2026 Academy Awards ended.
The incident reportedly occurred inside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 15, just seconds after the live broadcast wrapped.
What We Know About the Incident
According to TMZ, Taylor was attempting to return to the stage to take part in a celebratory Best Picture photo with the cast of her film “One Battle After Another.”
Sources told the outlet that Taylor was heading toward the stage alongside Pam Abdi when a security guard blocked the staircase leading up to the platform.
The guard allegedly used his body to prevent the actress from passing and placed his hands on her while trying to push her back from the stairs.
Video from inside the venue captured part of the exchange.
In the clip, Taylor can be heard confronting the guard and expressing frustration over the physical contact.
“You’re a man putting your hands on a female,” she told him during the heated moment, adding that the interaction was “very rude.”
At another point in the exchange, Taylor was heard telling people nearby, “He literally shoved me.”
According to sources that spoke with TMZ, the encounter became increasingly tense as the guard continued attempting to control access to the stage after the ceremony concluded.
During the back-and-forth, the guard allegedly asked Taylor to apologize during the confrontation.
Taylor Speaks Out
Despite the dramatic moment, Taylor appeared determined not to let the incident overshadow the night’s celebration.
Shortly afterward, she briefly addressed the situation while speaking to TMZ reporters outside the event.
“Security was just doing a lot,” she said. “There’s always that one.”
Earlier in the evening, Taylor had already made headlines for her striking red carpet appearance.
The actress arrived at the ceremony wearing a bold, avant-garde sheer gown by Chanel, paired with statement jewelry from Tiffany & Co..
Taylor was attending the ceremony as a nominee for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Perfidia in “One Battle After Another,” directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
The Oscars often feature tightly controlled backstage areas where security manages access for nominees, presenters and crew members after the broadcast concludes.
Still, the moment between Taylor and the guard quickly drew attention online as clips from the exchange circulated on social media.
While the confrontation briefly added tension to the evening’s finale, Taylor appeared to brush it off quickly — choosing instead to focus on the celebration surrounding one of Hollywood’s biggest nights.
