Being friends with Tracee Ellis Ross comes with one unexpected responsibility for Trevor Noah.
During an August 13 episode of the “What Now? With Trevor Noah” podcast, Trevor revealed that he receives flirtatious messages and dating requests whenever Tracee shares one of her popular swimsuit photos on social media.
The comedian said he doesn’t even need to see the pictures to know when Tracee has posted from one of her glamorous vacations.
Trevor Knows When Tracee Posts a Bikini Photo
The funny revelation came up while Trevor and Tracee discussed travel and the annual trips she takes with friends each July.
“I know when you have posted a bikini picture,” Trevor told her. “I am not even on Instagram in that way, but I know because I will get texts, varying degrees of ‘Tracee ooh’ and ‘Tracee damn.’”
Tracee regularly gives her Instagram followers a glimpse inside her vacations, sharing pictures from pools, boats and beaches around the world.
Trevor said those posts almost immediately lead to messages from people who know the two stars are friends.
“With you, I know every year, you are in Europe somewhere, a picture has been posted in a pool, on a boat, in the ocean, and then I must now field dating requests from people,” he explained.
Tracee Had One Question for Her Friend
Tracee laughed after learning that Trevor had become an unofficial recipient of romantic requests intended for her.
However, the “Girlfriends” alum also wanted to know whether he had overlooked any promising potential dates.
“Are they ever people that you should set me up with, and are you failing as my friend?” she asked.
Trevor admitted that approximately half of the messages come from married people who want to express how impressed they are by Tracee.
“That’s hilarious, sorry about that,” she responded.
Trevor assured her that an apology was unnecessary and said he only wanted to make her aware of what happens after she shares the photos.
Trevor Has the Same Problem With Idris Elba
Tracee is not Trevor’s only famous friend who generates plenty of attention.
The former “Daily Show” host joked that he “loathes” being publicly connected to Tracee and Idris Elba because of the messages their admirers send him.
While people contact Trevor about Tracee, women in his life reportedly reach out whenever they are reminded that he knows the “Luther” star.
The playful conversation offered listeners a glimpse into Trevor and Tracee’s friendship, which appears to include plenty of teasing and honest observations about life in the spotlight.
Tracee Feels More Confident Than Ever
The attention has not stopped Tracee from celebrating her body or sharing joyful moments from her travels.
When discussing turning 50 in 2023, the actress said growing older was an honor and made it clear she had no desire to return to her younger years.
“I would not go back if you paid me,” Tracee told NPR. “I am so much more comfortable in my skin.”
She expressed similar thoughts in an interview with “Today,” saying she felt “fantastic” and sexier than ever.
Based on the messages filling Trevor’s phone, plenty of admirers appear to agree.
