Trey Jemison and Alex Jean Glover surprised their wedding guests with an unexpected announcement: They were already married.
The NBA player and sports broadcaster celebrated with approximately 100 loved ones at Southall Meadows in Franklin, Tennessee, on August 21.
Instead of holding a traditional ceremony, Trey and Alex played a video revealing they had secretly eloped in Antigua more than one year earlier.
Trey Jemison and Alex Jean Glover Secretly Eloped
Trey, 26, and Alex, 25, got engaged on August 2, 2025. One day later, they exchanged vows during a private Caribbean elopement.
The couple kept their marriage secret while planning a larger celebration for their families and friends.
“We knew that we wanted everyone to be in one place to break the news and then party the night away after,” Trey told People.
Their video included footage from the Antigua elopement and clips showing them sharing their marriage news.
Because they skipped another ceremony, the couple extended the cocktail hour and allowed guests to immediately begin celebrating.
The Couple Planned a ‘Western Chic’ Celebration
Trey and Alex selected Tennessee because the location was within driving distance of their hometowns. Alex is from Houston, while Trey grew up in Birmingham, Alabama.
The couple chose a “Western chic” theme featuring green, brown and cream. Greenery and elegant floral arrangements filled the venue.
Guests enjoyed a live saxophonist, custom cornhole, a hat bar and a mechanical bull, which Alex described as “a non-negotiable.”
The reception menu included smoked beef brisket, cheese-and-herb baked chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetables, cornbread and rolls.
Instead of focusing on a large wedding cake, the couple selected a miniature cake for the traditional cutting. They also served sheet cake and offered guests custom ice cream flavors from Sweethaven.
Alex Jean Glover Embraced the Western Theme
Alex wore the Biscotti gown from Vow’d Nashville.
The lace dress featured an A-line silhouette, a modern Basque waist, a cat-eye neckline and a slit framed with lace.
“I wanted something I could wear with my cowgirl hat and boots that would fit the vibe,” she explained.
Alex later changed into a sparkling minidress created by Miami designer Inna Elsie.
Trey, who stands 6 feet, 10 inches tall, wore a bespoke suit from Custom Men. Alex said the personalized design was essential because her husband often struggles to find suits with the correct length.
The newlyweds shared their first dance to Rascal Flatts’ “Bless the Broken Road.”
Their Relationship Began on Social Media
Trey first contacted Alex during the summer of 2024 after seeing one of her sports broadcasting videos online.
Their initial message led to longer conversations, and they officially began dating that December.
The couple remained committed while balancing frequent travel and demanding careers. Trey was part of the New York Knicks’ 2025-2026 championship team before signing a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors in August 2026.
Planning their celebration proved challenging during the Knicks’ playoff run, leaving Alex to oversee many of the details with their wedding planner.
Now that their secret is public, Trey and Alex are looking forward to settling into their new life in Canada, traveling together and eventually starting a family.
