Denise Richards Gets Deep Support from Estranged Husband’s Family Member in Court

Denise Richards received support for her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers’ cousin, Kathleen McAllister, in court on Monday, Oct. 6.

PEOPLE reports that McAllister appeared virtually and alleged she saw Phypers push Richards against a concrete wall and choke her. She also claimed to have seen Phypers give Richards a black eye on Jan. 17, 2022.

“He was choking her and her head slammed against the [wall] and caused a concussion,” she said, per People. “She was just really upset, in pain, disoriented. [I was] concerned she could have died.”

“I saw Aaron hit Denise and immediately she had a really bad black eye,” McAllister added. “I’m literally in shock now to this day about it.”

The hearing was regarding Richards’ request to make her temporary restraining order against Phypers permanent.

Phypers officially filed for divorce in Los Angeles on July 7, listing July 4 as their date of separation and citing “irreconcilable differences.” But also in July, court documents obtained by PEOPLE showed an image of Richards with a black eye is show, having “cited July 4-14 as the date of the most recent alleged assault.”

Denise Richards Sent A Message To Fans In August

On August 21, Richards posted a video on Instagram, thanking her fans for their support,

“Just a little moment of gratitude. Thank you for the love-your kindness and support don’t go unnoticed! It means a lot to me💗,” she captioned the post.

“Many of you have been so kind and so supportive of me that I see all of your messages,” she said in the video. “I can’t comment because that would be taken out and put in the press, but I just wanted to, in all seriousness, say that this has been a very, very, very difficult time. It’s so hard to go through a divorce. Many of you have gone through that. This isn’t my first one, it’s my second one. And I never thought I’d get divorced again. This is why I always say never say never. But I just wanted to thank you so much for all of your supportive, kind, thoughtful, encouraging messages, because this has been a very difficult time and there are circumstances around my divorce that are difficult to talk about, which one day I will talk about it when the time is right, I just want to process everything and get through this.”

Page Six reported in September that Richards returned to the home she shared with her estranged husband with moving trucks, and also took her 15 dogs out of the home, which was not in the best state.

The outlet reports that the movers “wore face masks while working due to dust and a strong smell.”

Richards was granted permission by a judge on Sept. 13 to “retrieve her mother’s and her own personal property, including the dogs,” PEOPLE reported. With that, Phypers was ordered to stay 100 yards away from the home due to the temporary restraining order. He will be able to get his property from the home on Sept. 15.
