Beloved “Days of Our Lives” alum Patrick Muldoon had a decades-long close friendship with “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Denise Richards before his unexpected passing at age 57. They were so close that Richards’ daughters, Sami Sheen and Lola Sheen, with ex Charlie Sheen, gushed over Muldoon just one year before his passing.

In 2025, Sami and Lola joined their mom on the Bravo show “Denise Richards & Her Wild Things”. The reality TV show focused on Richards as a mom as well as life with her former husband, Aaron Phypers.
Lola, Sami, and Richards did an interview with Decider to promote the show. Sami and Lola were asked which of their moms’ famous friends was their favorite. After all, Richards has a lot of them, giving her decades in Hollywood.
However, the Sheen girls knew instantly who their favorite was: Muldoon.
“Patrick is my favorite,” Sami said immediately, with a huge smile on her face. Lola echoed the sentiment, adding, “I was gonna say, Pat. I love Pat so much.”
Sami went on to give more details regarding why she adored the “Melrose Place” alum. “He’s like a 15-year-old boy who never grew up but did at the same time in the best way possible. He’s really funny. And I’ve said that to him.”
Richards also chimed in to make it crystal clear that Muldoon has been one of her best friends since she was a teenager and that he’s close to her entire family, including her then-husband, Phypers.

“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star met Muldoon when she was 19, and he was 21. They were friends for years before they began dating, following making the movie “Starship Troopers” together in 1997.
Muldoon and Richards were considered a popular Hollywood couple back in the 1990s. The duo dated for a few years before calling it quits romantically.
Richards moved on with Sheen a couple of years later. While she was married to Sheen, Richards put her friendship with Muldoon on pause out of respect for Sheen.
On “Denise Richards & Her Wild Things,” Richards got candid about her friendship with Muldoon and why she put it on the back burner for her marriage. Richards admitted it was a very hard decision for her because she didn’t want to lose her friendship with Muldoon, but Sheen struggled with their friendship.
The Bravo personality rekindled her friendship when he marriage to Sheen began falling apart. Richards admitted Muldoon was there for her during that tough time.
