Denise Richards revealed she had a facelift eight months ago in a recent interview with Allure.
“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum is speaking candidly about her decision to undergo a facelift, even sharing unfiltered before-and-after reflections in what many are calling a rare level of transparency for the industry.

Known for her roles in films like “Wild Things” and “Starship Troopers,” Richards has spent decades in the public eye — which made the decision all the more daunting.
“I wanted to put things back up, where they were before,” she explained, describing the motivation behind the procedure.
Unlike many celebrities who stay vague about cosmetic work, Richards didn’t shy away from the reality of it.
She admitted she was “terrified” going into surgery, fully aware that her appearance has been closely watched since her 20s.
“Being in the public eye since my 20s, people know what I look like — a facelift is not something that I could hide,” she said.
Despite her fears, the results left a strong impression — even on her. “It is night and day,” Richards shared. “It’s shocking, actually.”
This wasn’t her first experience with plastic surgery, but it was her first facial procedure.
After years of saying she would “never” get a facelift, her perspective shifted. “I’m one who says ‘never say never,’ but I always said I would never get a facelift, because that’s my face. This is how I make my money,” she explained.
Richards Is Ecstatic With the Results
Ultimately, it was a combination of personal reflection and expert guidance that led her to move forward. After consulting with surgeons, she decided to trust her doctor Ben Talei. “I said, ‘You’re the artist. Whatever you want to do,’” she recalled.
Richards also got honest about the emotional and physical realities of the process — from incisions and swelling to the mental adjustment afterward.
She even avoided looking at herself in the mirror for the first few days post-surgery after being warned it could be overwhelming.
Her openness has sparked conversations beyond just her own experience.
Richards noted that after sharing her journey, other celebrities felt more comfortable opening up to her privately.
“It’s not just serums and working out and lasers,” she said, pointing to the often-unspoken truth behind many Hollywood transformations.
While her daughters were initially hesitant about her decision, Richards made it clear it was something she chose for herself. And now, months later, she says she feels confident in that choice.
